People will post "why didn't he do it sooner".

My guess is that some of these procedures are most effective after they are done and the benefits may decline in time.

Yeah, and that treatment sounds pretty unorthodox, so they must have really tried everything else. Th Byron Jones pick makes even more sense now.

Surgery is an option but it usually comes back. IIRC Newman had the same issue and had the surgery and bone spurs grew in and made it worse. I suffer from this in both feet and the only time it is a problem is first thing in the morning and any time I am off my feet, ie no weight on the feet like up and resting on a foot stool, I have "discomfort" for the first 20 steps.
