How do you finish the right way?

But no, not in Big D. We try to win 2 meaningless games to show what? Show we can mess up our draft pick?

You play to win the game.

I doubt and I would be worried if any of our player or coaches thought it was okay to lose so they could get a more talented rookie next season. I suspect the team to lose because they are not good enough but nothing will annoy me more then if they go out and give zero effort the next two weeks.

Exactly. Play to win regardless. And if you lose, I want to see 100% effort.
What many fans forget or ignore is that the other team is getting paid to win also.
Jimmy Johnson said, and I am sure he did not come up with this, it's been known for ever. Many games, many times. The game comes down to about 6 plays. The ball bounces the right or wrong way.
A pick, a fumble, a dropped pass. And now days more than ever, a blown call by the officials. Rather a blown call or otherwise a "very odd" blown call.

But I want to see an effort, and as you said. Take no plays off.

The team and super hero fans can say what they want. They've played not to lose all year so don't force feed me this silver lining crap.

Yes I want effort out there. But mostly it's time to see what the young players can do. Not because it's tanking but because it's strategically the smart thing to do.

I would also like to read more about what the Cowboys are doing to evaluate young talent for the future. let's talk about important things please. I'm not buying the hurrah bs anymore.

Yes you do, but a lil late for that now in this train wreck of a season to mean anything from a fan's perspective. Two weeks ago I was all for winning out and ruining the season for our hated division rivals if we could do it. Now, the best thing for our team is to get the highest/most valuable draft pick we can as the future, once again, is all we have to look forward to.

Having said that, Im all for beating the Skins and ruining their season if we can and if the standings make it a possibility.

I agree, from a fans perspective, particularly a hardcore fan, losing is reasonable.

I can't watch the games without rooting for the team with the star on their helmet to win though. I am confident we can find a player with immediate impact anywhere in the top 10....I don't see a huge difference unless you need a quarterback and unfortunately unless we leap frog the Ravens, Browns or even the Chargers...a top QB may not even fall to us at 5.

Jason Garrett sucks. Jerry Jones sucks.

NFL is entertainment. Players get paid. A ton. I understand they're competitive. But...if the REASON you play is for entertainment of the fans and that's what pays your paycheck. Playing the right way is losing for a better draft pick. We don't need ou talking about how NOW you want to find ways to win to keep your job. It's insulting to the fans and it pisses me off that in the last two meaningless games they want to find ways to win.

The Cowboys have lost 10 of their last 12 games, the worst stretch in franchise history since its first season under the ownership of Jerry Jones in 1989.

Head coach Jason Garrett stressed that doesn't mean the club will write off these final two games.

"Well you absolutely want to finish everything you do the right way,'' Garrett said. "We talk about that, finishing plays, finishing drives, certainly finishing games, and that applies to seasons as well.''

Many teams find opportunities to work younger players onto the field in these situations. Garrett made it clear that will only happen if those players have earned the opportunity in practice.

"It's always tough when everything you've worked for and planned for the entire season, when that's gone,'' tight end Jason Witten said. "It makes it difficult and challenging.

"But at the same time, there is only one way to play. What brand of football we want to be and what we're about, I think sometimes that shows the most in situations like this. I expect our team to respond to that, try to build on this and finish out strong and really go into the future.''
