Call it the battle of failed philosophies. The Cowboys host the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night, two teams that took drastically different approaches to restoring their running games in the off-season, only to meet with disastrous results, anyway.

It was supposed to be some kind of showcase game when the schedule makers installed Philadelphia-Dallas for the second Sunday night in November. DeMarco Murray, Offensive Player of the Year in 2014, returns to Dallas as, of all things, an Eagle.

What could be bigger than that?

As it turns out, just about everything.

The mental gymnastics required to think that a team that's played most of the year without their two best offensive weapons and is top 7 in rush yards per game, or is in anyway on par with the disastrous failure of the Eagles running backs is astounding.

I'm not sure how the Cowboys philosophy has failed unless he's referring to something about the philosophy on backup QBs.

The Cowboys rank 7th in rushing yards. The losing streak has nothing to do with Murray. The Cowboys have been losing because Romo and Dez have been out, not because of any team philosophy.

Somehow Cows gets worse every year. He has been unreadable for so long I'm shocked when anyone does pay attention to him.
