Jerry is actually doing really good on this show with gosselin.

Jerry was asked by hansen if he thinks he will draft for need, the best player or the wow player.

Jerry's response I want to add a wow player to this roster. I think we need another wow player. then he defined wow player as a guy that can sack the quarterback or make big plays on offense.

Maybe jerry is bluffing but it sure sounds like spencer or trading up for a running back.

Did you catch what Archer or Gosselin said before Jerry came on, theebs? I couldn't get the darn thing to connect until near the end when Jerry was talking about that "wow" factor.

BTW, what about Gosselin saying Griffin could be our pick *if* he's there? Goose said there was a decent chance Griffin would already be gone by #22. That surprised me.

Spencer is a guy who could also get some serious playing time as a rookie.

I hope that Ellis's re-hab goes smoothly, and that Ellis can come back at full strength. But even with a healthy Ellis, I think Spencer could add a lot to the rotation. And in 2008, Spencer could push to start.

They basically just went through the top 5 or so players in the draft.

I'm leaning for Spencer at this point.

Naa he sounds like a guy wanting to draft a good pass rusher like Spencer

What Jerry said was that 1) eliminate the need pick as he feels they could play competitively right now. 2) His BPA definition whether its for the cowboys with their current cap situation or in regards to what they want to do in the future. and 3) That he WANTS if possible to make a WOW selection. and then indicated with the 1st rd pick and defined a wow player as a pressure guy (Gaines Adams) a punt returner who could do other things lol (his exact words..which means Ted Ginn) or a WR (Calvin Johnson) or a QB but said obviously we do not need a qb.....I would not agree with adding spencer to the pressure player bc we wouldnt need to trade up to get him in the 1st rd...It is fairly obvious to me jerry wants to make a spalsh in this draft - he feels the team is in a situation in which we can afford to do so - and I do agree with him. I just hope if we do move up...we move up for the RIGHT Player. The question now is Who?

If Gaines Adams fell to the 10 or 11 spot, I wouldn't mind trading up to get him. Anderson is by far the best DE in this draft, but he doesn't translate well to the 3-4.

Like Jerry said, don't believe a word he says unless he's not talking about football.

I think his impact player to trade up for is Branch if he falls enough. He even said that he didn't see the one rb falling far enough to trade up.

I am leaning or thinking the cowboys will trade down just alittle to get spencer, or if bowe or ginn is there at 22nd pick, just stay there and take one of them.

I just dont want them if they trade down to far out of the 1st round, maybe to the 27th or 28th pick, but not any farther down, then like jerry jones said, your losing quality players if you trade out of the 1st round.

Now mind you, i wouldnt mind getting Peterson if he falls, say to the 14th pick or so, maybe we can give the Buffalo Bills Julius Jones in the swap, with # 1's and get Peterson, but keep our 2nd and 3rd round picks.

Then possibly maybe trade down in 2nd or 3rd round to pick up an extra 4th rounder, thats where the strength of the draft is in the 2nd to early 5th rounds.

I highly doubt you will see Dallas moving up in the draft unless Adrian Peterson falls to like 15, which I seriously doubt. I would be elated if Dallas stayed put and grabbed Spencer at 22 or Jarvis Moss.

At first I loved the ideal of getting Alan Branch, he would spell Fergueson at times, while providing a pass rush and future. But you keep hearing reports about his shin slints possible injury, and he just visited San Francisco, and he balloned up to 15-20 pounds, that to me isnt a player I would be interested in.

Gosh, just think what he would do when he would get that fat contract, he would eat himself off the team.

I am thinking more and more towards what Jerry Jones said at 12:30 press conference on dallascowboys main website. He said there were at least 4 impact players on offense. We all can figure that Calvin Johnson would be one, then Peterson next, with Ginn Jr. a 3rd with the remarks Jerry Jones said about said about having a impact player that could return punts, kinda like Hester did with the Bears last year. So, that would leave one more offensive player.
On defense, we all know Landry at safety, Okoye at DT, Adams at DE, and to me Carriker at DE-DT, that would leave about 4 players on defense still. Guys that could sack Qb would be Jarvis Moss, Patrick Willis LB, possibly Nelson and Merriweather at safety. Then, I would put Spencer at the top of the 2nd round.

Yea, I agree I'm leaning toward Spencer too. And hopefully we can pick up a Steve Smith or Anthony Gonzales in the 2nd. I'm really wishing to trade down a lil still get Spencer and pick up another 3rd or 4th, that would be perfect.

My Mini Mock:
1) Anthony Spencer- OLB/DE
2) Anthony Gonzales- WR
3) Manny Ramirez- OG/ Doug Free-OT
4) Alan Barbre- OT/ Andy Alleman- OG
5) Courtney Brown- CB
6) Jordan Palmer/ Jeff Rowe- QB
6) LaRon Harris- DT
7) Cory Anderson- FB
7) Michael Allan- TE
7) Melvin Bullett- FS

So what do u guys think?

I'm not in love with the idea of taking Gonzales in the 2nd round I'd go after a guy like Jason Hill or Sidney Rice.

Gonzales is moving up the charts anyway. I doubt he'd be there for our 2nd round selection.
