Yeah I didn't like the way that sounded. I want him ready for camp, not just the 49ers game. In other news Jay Ratliff and Kyle Orton have officially made my Aria Stark hit list.

I think when he says:

...he knows that he will not be 100% at the start of training camp. However, he wants Jason Garrett and the front office to gamble on his health status at that time, regardless of the assessment, and not put him on the PUP. He tries reinforcing his own self-assessment by saying he'll be good to go for Week 1, even though he is uncertain of his condition before that. I hope the training staff keeps a microscope focused on Melton's progression. The defense needs the best proper health assessment of Melton as possible. If he's ready, giving him the green light. If not, take the necessary precautions.

I would be shocked if he is on the PUP list. Most likely they will bring him a long carefully but that is kind of a letdown... We need him in there building a rapport with his new line.

I agree. I think they will bring him along slowly and allow him to regain his legs and endurance over the course of training camp and barring a setback I think he will be ready to start the season.

If he does go on PUP, he can come off of it anytime during training camp.

If they expect him to play in game 1, then I doubt if he will go on the PUP because they have 90 roster spots in TC.

If they expect a player (Spencer, Whaley) to be on PUP for game 1, then they must start on the PUP from the beginning of TC. They are ineligible for the PUP after 1 practice snap in TC.

Obviously whatever the Rat said it wasn't enough to stop Melton from going to the Boys. I think the Rat was just "throwing shade".
