We know the Cowboys are thankful that the injured reserve list was not a permanent assignment for their quarterback. As for the National Football League, at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, it's just grateful that Superman is on the way.
The Thanksgiving holiday is now as jammed with NFL games as the kitchen sink is with dishes. But even with the recent addition of a third contest at night, the Cowboys' game in the middle of the afternoon remains the highest rated and the showcase event for the holiday.
And if not for Superman flying into town -- that would be, of course, Cam Newton leading the undefeated Carolina Panthers to AT&T Stadium -- what would be the top storyline be for this game?
The heartwarming tale of Greg Hardy facing his former team that wanted nothing to do with him and has been just fine without him.
