ARLINGTON -- Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne missed his second consecutive game because of hamstring and ankle injuries. Rookie Byron Jones started in his place.

After Thursday's 33-14 loss to Carolina, Claiborne said he'd be ready to go when the Cowboys travel to Washington on Dec. 7.

"Definitely," Claiborne said. "I feel like if this game was Sunday I would have been able to play. But just because it was a short week it was better to be safe."

How frustrating was it to sit and watch?

"It was very frustrating, especially when you go out there and you have no part of doing anything," Claiborne said.

Jones finished with two tackles and a team-high two pass breakups.

The trend of signing injury prone players needs to end now. Bye Mo, you can not be counted on!

Don't even have to read article...."I'll be ready for Washington...to give up play after play, never looking back at the ball or making an attempt at it."

Claiborne has played decent this season. He won't command a big pay day so I see no reason why not to bring him back.

I think Claiborne will get one of the $5-7M/year deals you see every offseason where all sorts of average CBs move around from one team to anotherin the league.

I don't think the Cowboys are going to be the team to give him that contract.

He was playing pretty well after coming back from a very severe patella injury and two suspect knees. The kid has talent and was starting to gain confidence. When he was drafted our biggest need was CB and we took him thinking he would be a difference maker. then we had him play in zone most of the time when he is a man to man corner. Not all of his shortcomings have been his own doing. As coaches they are supposed to put these kids in the best position possible to succeed.
