RB Marion Barber dressed out for practice for the first time since dislocating the pinkie toe on his right foot, but he didn't participate in drills open to the media.

Barber worked out on the side along with WR Miles Austin (knee) under the supervision of associate athletic trainer Britt Brown and assistant strength and conditioning coach Tony Ollison. Austin, who isn't expected to return this week, was not wearing his helmet and shoulder pads.

Here's the list of players who aren't out there: TE Jason Witten (ankle, chest), CB Pacman Jones (neck), WR Roy Williams (foot), FS Ken Hamlin (ankle) and LG Montrae Holland (ankle).

SS Keith Davis (knee), OLB DeMarcus Ware (knee) and CB Mike Jenkins (hamstring) are all participating in the practice. So are the five veterans who were given the afternoon off last Wednesday.

Marion speaks

It is big news when Marion Barber says anything. At all. Ever.

Just to give you another idea, this is what an interview with Marion Barber is like:

Evil Media: How are you feeling?
MB III: Just chillin'.

Evil Media: What do you think about your boss kinda of calling you out?
MB III: I don't talk. I'm a quiet dude.

He then walks into an area the evil media isn't allowed.

And it's at this point you want to sound like the boss character Bill Lumbergh from "Office Space" and say, "Thaaaaaanks."

UGH! So which post is accurate? Is Davis out or is the post that he's actually practicing correct?

This is very strange to have some saying he's practicing and others claiming he's out 2-4 weeks.

I absolutely LOVE the fact that Marion's silence gets to the media.

They should just give it up and write about what he does on the field and for the community, he's made it clear he doesn't like talking to you guys about soap opera nonsense.

Pacman Among Slew Of Practice MIA's
Posted by mickshot at 12/10/2008 2:03 PM CST on truebluefanclub.com

The Cowboys have seven players missing from Wednesday’s practice currently taking place, including Adam “Pacman” Jones, who has a bugling disk in his neck and is likely to at least miss Sunday’s game with the New York Giants. The biggest question is, will he miss the remainder of the season, and as one team source said when asked about Jones’ condition, “It’s not good.”

Also missing from practice on Wednesday are safety Ken Hamlin (ankle), wide receiver Roy Williams (foot), tight end Jason Witten (you name it), guard Montrae Holland (ankle), wide receiver Miles Austin (knee) and running back Marion Barber (calf, toe), who at least is dressed for practice and has his helmet on, but still was working with the trainers while the team was going through the preliminary portion of practice the media is allowed to watch.

But playing the role of the bionic man is safety Keith Davis, who suffered a third-degree sprain of his MCL but still insisted before practice he not only would practice today but also play in Sunday’s game. We’ll find out later this afternoon if he was at all limited in practice.

Seems as though if Hamlin or Davis can’t go Sunday, the next guy up would be Tra Battle, who is starting his third week with the club after being signed off the San Diego practice squad on Nov. 26. While the Cowboys are concerned with Jones’ condition, at least rookie Mike Jenkins returned to workouts today after missing the past two games with a strained hamstring.

Mac Engel = Evil Media?

Yeah, okay that little bit of drama is kind of cute. In a syrupy woe is me kind of way.

so Roy is hurt already. that didn't take long. another missed oppurtunity for him and Romo to get in sync. guess we really will have to wait till next year to see an impact from him.

I never fully understood why they were given time off. I guess Owens & Ellis still thought they had the day off on Sunday. So they don't need to get off their feet this week?
