I am :D.

But in all seriousness - I do think this team will rank somewhere in top 10 defense and top 5 offense plus there are now enough guys on the roster who bring a real physical element to game day and that this team should not be afraid to face anyone.

You may be right if we stay relatively healthy.

Can Kelly wave his magic wand and change his scrub QB into Tom Brady?

What other NFL coach could dump the talent Kelly did this offseason and get the praise for it it that everyone is drowning him in? I question whether we'd see the same type of fawning even if we were talking about Bill Belichik.

Back to back 10-6 seasons after inheriting a 4-12 team and putting up 474 and 442 pts the last two years will get some people's attention. Even if you accept Braford as a wash and Murray as another one then you still have to beat them. And NY will be better this year with a better defense to go with a pretty good offense as well as pesky Wash and you have a tough division.

Everyone will be a tough out this year.

Yes, it is funny that people claim Murray is a big upgrade. I think McCoy was a better player. How many OL did he dump?

I haven't heard many people claim Murray is a huge upgrade over McCoy. I like them both as players. I can argue that Murray is going to get more consistently positive yardage. He won't get you the Barry Sanders like big plays but he will get you a better Sc%.

Mathis basically cut himself and a 6M contract at age 33 although I agree he's got another year or so at a high level. They have Peters, Barbre and Johnson. They get back Gardner and Kelce while undersized is decent at least. IDK their depth but that's a decent+ OL.

Everyone will be a tough out this year.

Everyone in the NFCE is always a tough out, but that's got little to do with the point of either of my posts.

1) Philly will be hard for the Cowboys to beat, but it won't be because Kelly has developed some new game strategy that will baffle the Dallas coaches.

2) Can you imagine the media frenzy if Jason Garrett had cut Dez Bryant and Zack Martin this offseason over personality clashes and let Terrance Williams and Leary walk? Unlike Philly, Dallas has upgraded the talent at almost every position, but is still getting a ton of grief because they didn't draft a RB. If Chip had added another blue chipper to the best OL in football, had added first-round talent at two positions of weakness and had Tony Romo as his QB, his team would be much of the media's top choice to win the SB.

I actually like Kelly as a coach, but he hasn't done anything that some other coaches haven't done in their first two years. The team may have been 4-12, but the cupboard was far from bare. In fact, I'd argue that the team had near perfect personnel for running Kelly's offense when he took the job. He promptly got rid of his Pro Bowl speed in the backfield and on the outside as well as an All Pro guard and another starting OL.

I don't accept Bradford as anything. He's coming off back-to-back ACL tears and hasn't played in a year. He has a ton to prove to me before I'll believe he's any better than Nick Foles. Like, whether he can stay on the field for more than nine games (his career average) and play good football game in and game out. He may light up the world, but he hasn't played in a year or been anything but injury prone and inconsistent over his career. He's got a whole new offense to learn and he's gonna get hit more in Philadelphia than he did in St. Louis.

Agree with 1.

2. Mathis walked away and that's why he was cut along with the salary at his age. Maybe they saw some decline and Barbre is more than capable although not All Pro. They have a decent WR corps along with Celek and they don't have to be great as this is more a horizontal offense than vertical. There are only five at most teams with a Tony Romo so that's a tough beef. They have enough talent with that offense. It's the defense that's the problem. They gave up 400 pts last year. Not good.

3. Bradford has skills and now has a decent offense to play in. If he stays healthy then then they could be about the same or better. They scored 474 pts last year taking that off the top of my head. That's not 500 but another few ppg and they are getting elite. 3 more ppg gets them 30 ppg and that is very good. Hard to knock the offense.

Dec. 13 at Green Bay Packers: LOSS. This one doesn’t come down to a controversial catch. Aaron Rodgers is in the process of having his third MVP season and the Cowboys fall to the eventual Super Bowl champs.

I truly hope this one is wrong.

I wanna see some paybacks with the Cowboys beating the ***** Packers & Da Boyz being the SB champs instead. :flagwave:

Dallas Cowboys guard Zack Martin (70), quarterback Tony Romo (9), center Travis Frederick (72) and guard Ronald Leary (65) during the first half of the Dallas Cowboys-Washington Commanders NFL football game at FedEx Field in Landover, MD, on Dec 28, 2014. (Michael Ainsworth/The Dallas Morning News)

We’re down to two weeks until training camp and two months until the season starts.

Recently we’ve learned that Greg Hardy will miss four games instead of 10 and Dez Bryant could be sitting out if he doesn’t get a long-term contract.

Seems like a good time to update my way-too-early season projection.

Sept. 13 vs. New York Giants: WIN. The Cowboys have owned the Giants the last few years, winning five of the last six. I’m predicting that Bryant will be on the field and the Cowboys will respond with an impressive showing on national TV.

Sept. 20 at Philadelphia Eagles: LOSS. Like most, I’m not sure what Chip Kelly has been doing with his roster, but I think he pulls out a few surprises and DeMarco Murray will look very good in his first game against his old team.

Sept. 27 vs. Atlanta Falcons: WIN. I expect the Falcons to have their best season since 2012, but the Cowboys get them before things start heading in the right direction. Bryant also finishes this one with better numbers than Julio Jones.

Days before deadline, Dez Bryant tells fans 'I will not be there' without new deal
  • Predicting the Dallas Cowboys' 2015 starting lineup
  • Bob Sturm: In league hungry for QBs, how did Tony Romo go undrafted?
  • Bob Sturm: Why I don't assume 'mystery man' Rolando McClain will be with Cowboys for all of 2015 season
Game-by-game predictions = hard to do till we see if DEZ gets his deal done.

That's a pretty big "if." Bradford's gonna get hit a lot just because of the nature of the Chip Kelly offense. I won't reiterate the rest.

Like I said, Bradford may light it up. There's just way too many question marks for me to take the QB position for granted in Philly.

I agree on the defense. Chip Kelly's insistence on running a play every 20 seconds puts more pressure on his defense than ours.

I think the overall record shakes out to be that but some of those wins or losses will be different. I could see us sweeping the NYG and PHilly and splitting with Wash. I could see us beating NE but losing to NYJ or Buff.

true only the overall record is predictable at this point, but it is fun to guess individual games !
not like were betting our life or money on it, it is just a guess.

right now though I have no idea on outcomes.

I agree Bradford has a question mark but his skills are there. He just needs to stay healthy.
