All this talk about our offense and OL bringing swagger and setting a tone sounds great. It's not that I don't appreciate all of that because I do and I certainly am not taking them for granted. But, what we accomplish this year has everything to do with the defense.

And part of the defensive success depends on ball control from the offense

This is the number one thing I think Garrett has done right. Turned a weakness into a strength by focusing on it. I knew getting rid of 3 high paid veterans on the OL at the same time was going to have bumps in the road, but I absolutely felt it was the right move if we focused on fixing the OL and he has.

This is what worries me about the defense this year.

Me too, but you know what, just like when Barry Sanders left the Lions, they actually got better. There is little doubt at all that Marinelli wants DL depth to send in fresh legs and to try and hound QBs into mistakes. We did not have it last year. We will have it this year.

Ball control type offense, eat up the clock, and keeping our defense off the field whether it's strong or weak is how we win more games.. I'd imagine Murray breaks 1,200 + this season...

Goose picked Dallas 3rd and and borderline 4th in the division in the Dallas Morning News.
He like the Giants to win the division.

Yes but if the offense fixes a few things it will make it easier on the defense.

That sounds and reads alot better than it plays on the football field. I read your post and I think of the Denver game. We gotta start making teams punt.

No doubt at times we have to put points on the board and hopefully get better about closing games out via the run. I do agree ball control sound great in helping the defense however if you let the opposing team score in 3 or 4 plays ball control is not going to help you much. Defense has to step up and play better than they did last season no doubt about it
