If we want to be a Super Bowl contender this year then pass rush, pass defender, and then QB. We have a QB in Romo, taking a backup at #4 isn't going to win games for you, heck the first year he will be learning the offense. Pass rush you stand to get the ball more times even with a backup like Moore would give you a much better chance to win. I don't care what Goose says about the QBs of the last four teams being 1st round choices, Newton was 1st in Carolina, Peyton was 1st in Indy not Denver, Brady was a sixth round choice and Palmer was 1st in Cincinnati then to Oakland then to Arizona. His cred on that subject is nil.
I know Goose doesn't read the comments but he blew his case up when he talked about 3 of the last four teams had 1st round choices at QB. Really. So Denver drafted Peyton Manning and Arizona drafted Palmer. That is not the reason either was there, they both was resurrecting their careers out of Indy and Cincy. Newton by all accounts the first two years was a mistake by Carolina, he still might be for all we know, he has had one great year so lets not compare him to Brady or Aikman or any other great QB just yet.
If you go by the stats then the top 4 QBs in this draft would not be considered 1st round choices if it was 2015, or 2014 or 2012 so what makes them have to picks in 2016 because they clearly aren't the best elite prospects in the draft. If you want to be Cleveland then by all means take a QB at #4 and then in a couple of years (2018) we can draft again in the top 5 and take another QB. That is how bad teams draft. The first two rounds should always be who you have rated as the BPA and not reaches.
Goose isn't thinking correctly and sure he can say Rodgers was #7 on his board but the fact is 23 other teams didn't have him rated this high and in fact if you go back and reread the articles then you would see Green Bay took him because the two other guys they had targeted went before him so he was the BPA on their board then and based on the other picks if they hadn't have taken him he slips into the second round. Sometimes you get lucky but just ask Cleveland how lucky they feel.
