really hope we trade back a little and get couple cb's. If we stay at 28 hoping for DE then next 2-3 picks in secondary.
applaud Cowboy brass for revamping the secondary when they saw a draft rich in that area. NE and Seattle seems to be trying to do the same

I would not mind a slight trade down. no more than 8 slots though, and that may be a bit too much. Depending on the trade of course.
There is no players going by the CBS rankings, at #28 that rally jump out to me. However a few from 20 to 26 if they slip to us, now that would be ok.
Which one may.

But with a few of the DB's being injured now, that means others may move up for teams to select, therefore pushing other players down. Also with the recent arrest and release of the CB from SF. Will they go for a DB now, if a QB is not there for them to take.

Now from 33 to 40, there are 3 DB's that could be worthy of taking. King, Conley and Baker.

anything but DE, wasted draft. We did the ol CB thing, not really impressed with our CB picks, we need to get someone that hits the QB.

I like the idea of a big CB but king will probably go ahead of 28 because of 2 CB injuries.

To me, the issue is still best player available at 28 or trade down.

Best DE left on board at 28? How much better will this guy be than the speed rushers in round 2? What's the chance this DE actually shows up and wins a starting spot over DLaw, Mayowa, Irving, Tapper. Unless you get a true speed rusher, a rookie DE is more likely a guy who is working to gradually make the rotation.

Best CB at 28? Still clearly a tier 2 or 3 CB at the bottom of round 1. Jackson can impact as a rookie in return game. King may be a better match up with big receivers in NFC East. But again, is a rookie CB taken that low going to beat out the vets Scandrick, Brown, Carroll?

I think a rookie CB probably has a better chance of winning a starting spot than a rookie DE unless a pure pass rusher drops who can be on the field every 3rd down. I think we have to take the best player at 28 because neither key position is likely to make a huge impact this year, though you never know for sure.

You can't really make the call until you see what's happened in picks 1-25, but I think I like the idea of dropping into the top of round 2, possibly getting both a CB and DE in round two, 2 guys very similar to whatever you would have taken at #28.

Only DEs I'd consider at 28:
Harris, McKinley, Watt.

We need someone who brings something our other guys don't, even if they are a liability now vs the run. The other DEs, including Charlton, seem like more of the same.

Yeah right now we have so many needs that it is all that we look at. Going BPA always is the best way to go, and when it is said we should go BPA at just 2 positions.....I have to ask myself if we actually remember what BPA means.

Draft isn't for needs, its for talent acquisition. We didn't do anything in free agency, and maybe we should've cause that's where you fill needs. But at the end of the day, going into to the draft thinking we need this or that position, has a low chance of success.

The guys who go hit the QB where we are picking are very meh.

The corners will most likely be the better option.

Ty, i will bow to your knowledge as i have not the time to look it up and you have always been honest in your knowledge here
