It finally looks like Bob Hayes is going to get into the Hall of Fame, although I realize there are no givens when it comes to this.

That said, let's assume he makes it.

Once he does, it will be time to turn our attention to other Cowboys who should be in the hallowed halls.

Here are my guys: Drew Pearson and Chuck Howley.

I don't understand how you can be on the All-Decade team for one of the most successful franchises of the '70s, make all of the clutch plays Pearson did and not get in. As for Howley, he was simply one of the most athletic and big-play linebackers of his era. The only Super Bowl MVP from a losing team. That speaks volumes.

What do you guys think?

Maybe JJT should ask Jerry Jones why Drew Pearson is not in the Ring of Honor?
Drew is my favorite player of all time.
I believe he should be in the Ring of Honor and the Hall of Fame.
Jerry Jones is not helping Drew's chances of getting into the Hall of Fame by not having him in the Ring of Honor.

JJT is dead on with this. What about Cliff Harris? He is the 1st team all 70's decade FS and the guy who is the 2nd team all 70's FS is in and he isn't.

Idiocy.

If Drew does get into the HOF in the next couple of years, does that force Jerry's hand about putting Pearson in the ROH?

I agree with Hos, Cliff deserves to be in the HOF as well.:star:

This reminds me of something I said previously which AdamJT13 followed up with:

Other than the kickers, only two of those exclusions were named to the first-team All-Decade Team for the 1970s --

Drew Pearson and Cliff Harris.

Sure, there's no bias at all.

Want to see something even more sickening?

Drew Pearson zero
Bob Hayes once
Chuck Howley zero
Harvey Martin zero
Cliff Harris once

Those are the number of times each player was named as a finalist in the Hall of Fame voting. It's downright disrespectful.

I've actually talked to reporter who asked Drew about that same situation you just described.
If Drew gets inducted into the Hall of Fame he will tell Jerry to shove it on the Ring of Honor.
Drew is bitter about it and I can't blame him one bit.
I mean when you think about Drew's career...Jerry should have gotten Drew in there a long time ago.
Much like Jerry made things right with Landry after the long time fans were bitter about Landry's firing, Jerry should bury the hatchet with that feud with Drew and get him in the Ring of Honor where he belongs.

Pretty much what I think, there are at least 5 more Cowboys that should be in. Plus Bob Hayes.

I can't believe Ray Guy isn't in either.

Sad there is so much politics and stupidity in the voters minds.

Harvey Martin is in Hall of Very Good

A lot of you think Harvey Martin should be in the Hall of Fame.

I simply can't agree with you.

He belongs in the Hall of Very Good. There's nothing wrong with that. He was a terrific player, but he wasn't great.

In 1976 and 1977, he had 39 sacks, including a franchise record 23 in 1977. But one or two fantastic seasons combined with several good seasons doesn't make a Hall of Fame player.

You need several seasons of greatness like Randy White to get into the Hall of Fame

Is Jean-Jacques Taylor a Board of Selector? If he isn't, he should be. With his input, Dallas won't get another player in the Hall after Emmitt Smith until 2050.
