No instincts for Miles Austin

Yes, Miles Austin has plenty of speed. And he has pretty good hands.
But he must have no instincts. Otherwise he would've scored easily instead of being tackled after a 63-yard gain.
Austn, who ran a deep post route, caught the ball in stride about the 35 and would've scored if he had just kept angling toward the pylon. Instead, he ran in a straight line and was tackled at the 3.
It didn't matter because Marion Barber scored two plays later, but details are often the difference between winning and losing a championship.

I can't, for the life of me, figure out why some of you guys are so sensitive.
Did I commend Miles Austin for making a nice 63-yard catch? Yup. Did I say he showed no instincts by running in a straight line, so the defender could tackle him instead of continuing to run on an angle toward the pylon that would've allowed him to score easily? Sure did.
Some of you seem to think that was an offensive statement.
Too bad. Get over it.
It was a fact.
An instinctive player - Felix Jones comes to mind - would have taken the proper angle into the end zone. This is not the end of the world. Ray Sherman will talk to him about it. Jason Garrett will talk to him about it.
His teammates will tease him about it for the rest of the season. So what's the problem?
Austin played small-college football at Monmouth. He's still learning the nuances of the game. He says it all of the time.
This is just one more thing he'll learn. He won't make the same mistake again.
