I didn't see this posted anywhere, please delete if it's a repost.

I would hate to see K. Davis leave, our special teams weren't so special without him in the lineup last year.

Calvin Watkins

Special teams ace and captain, Keith Davis will visit Miami on Monday. Davis and his people are in talks with several teams including the Cowboys. Davis has a desire to play more on defense.

Davis had 18 special teams tackles and played with a injured right shoulder suffered while trying to tackle Devin Hester of the Bears on Sept. 23. Davis is a good locker room guy as evident by his close relationship with several players including strong safety Roy Williams.

We'll see in the next 24-48 hours if Davis says bye-bye to Dallas.

I don't see the Cowboys overpaying for Davis.

If Miami shows Davis the money, IMO he's gone.

I don't want them to overpay for him and i don't blame him for leaving if he gets more money and playing time on defense.

I just would hate to see him leave, that is all.

Our special teams weren't that impressive to begin with and the loss of K. Davis is not going to help. I hope we have some players on the team that will step up thier play to take over the leadership position on special teams.

I don't want K Davis to leave either for the same reasons you mention.

However, he may get more playing time in Miami at Safety - or BP may just tell Davis that and show Davis the money.

Mentally, I've resolved myself to thinking that Davis is leaving.

It'll be a shame to lose him, but we'll need roster spots for the new batch of rookies. Had he not been a FA this year, I don't think he was a lock to make this team anyway.

I don't want to downplay his contributions to our ST, but I think he's someone that can be replaced in the draft (if not upgraded).

Well, if there was some sane way to get rid of R. Williams, I would love to keep Keith. He's better in coverage, a better tackler, can almost hit as h ard, and great at ST. I was hugely impressed with his play subbing for Roy this year. However, since it seems there's no good way to get rid of Roy, I guess he has to go, but man our ST coverage units suck right now. The ST coach of ours had better get with the program. This is the worst special teams coverage I can remember in our history. I'm scared everytime we punt or kick the ball. Never had that feeling untill this year. So, I'll miss KD., but sometimes that's how it goes.

Keith Davis is gone if he gets an offer. I imagine the Saints will also be interested...didn't they show interested in him a year or two ago when Payton first got to New Orleans?

None of us want to lose Davis, but keep in mind Courtney Brown would get more of a chance to play. Brown seems like a talented kid converting from CB. I'm really curious to see if he has anything.

If getting burnt and TOASTEd like sunday morning bread in coverage equals more playing time and happiness to Keith Davis then I guess he should go after it.

While he did bring a level of intimidation on ST's he was a liability in our defensive packages.

Like some have stated above - he could be replaced by some kid out of the draft that might bring a little more to the table than KD did.

He might get close to starting ST money so there is no way he can turn that down.
