I think it is teams in last place that have a returning staff. DAL hasn't coached it for 50 years.

yea, can almost guarantee we'd pick a LB and a DB from the game if we did coach it. maybe a DT too...one can hope

January 4th - Teams may begin exercising fifth year options on 2013 first round draft selections. The deadline to exercise fifth year option is May 3rd.

Dallas will exercise Travis Frederick's fifth year option for 2017, but they can wait until that off-season before entering talks on a long term extension.

March 15 - 2016 NFL league year begins and free agency period starts at 3 p.m. All NFL teams have to be under the 2016 salary cap.

As has been the case for a few years now, teams can actually enter contract talks with agents on March 13th and come to informal agreements before the start of free agency. This policy was adopted in an attempt to combat the rampant tampering that started every year at the NFL scouting combine.

When do they announce the comp picks? Is that usually during the league meetings in March? I can't remember.
