Great news, hopefully Folk can make the same recovery.

With Joe lighting a fire under our coverage teams, and FOlk, McBriar and maybe Buehler, we could have one of the best ST in the league. In close games that would make a big difference.
Of course if Buehler is as advertized our kickoff coverage team might not have much to do.

Has anyone even heard about his Kickoffs yet?

I guess I could have missed it but you'd think there would have been a little info on the guy. After all, thats why he was picked.

This guy posted this the other day. Seems he got a chance to attend the media-attended OTA.

Another thing that stuck out is the new kicker. He was on the sideline kicking fieldgoals between plays at a radical angle. He was nailing them from the 30 yardline, but it was such a hard angle that you could add 10 yards to the kick.
At the end of practice he was kicking from the 43 yardline and was clearing the uprights, not the crossbar, but the uprights. Those kicks would have been good from past the 50 yardline.
Also, you should see Choice run. I thought he had the best moves and speed of the running backs that day. I hope he sees more action this year as he really stands out.

Thanks.

While nice to hear he has a monster leg, I want to hear how damn far his kickoffs are traveling.

Yeah if this guy really put it in the endzone regularly that would be a big edge.

Mat McBriar is all the way back

Punter Mat McBriar, who missed most of last season after breaking his foot in the OT loss to Arizona, has returned to Pro Bowl form. McBriar was booming the ball at the beginning of the morning practice.

McBriar booted one ball about 65 yards in the air, so far that Felix Jones couldn't get to it after turning and sprinting. And it was beautifully directed, too, landing about a yard inside of the sideline. The ball took a nice bounce and would have rolled at least another 15 yards if a Cowboys staffer didn't stop it.

You can cross McBriar's right foot off the list of Cowboys injury concerns.

This is the part that interests me. Is Felix returning punts?? They tried a few times in practice at Arkansas but he could never quite get the hang of it. Don't believe he ever returned one in a game.

He only had one opportunity (for 11 yards, in fact) to return punts and that was during his freshman year.

And that was a HUGE problem area for the Hogs. Reggie Fish fumbling a punt in the end zone cost them the SEC championship against Florida. Things got so bad they put their fullback back there most of the time just to fair catch it. They desperately needed a punt returner and Felix couldn't do it then, that's why I'm surprised if they're looking at him as punt returner now.
