We are an unknown commodity at CB. Carr does have some leverage.
I think the NFL should model the NBA as far as contracts. That would certainly be a downward force on the player salaries. I do see why they don't though, A football player is just one hit away in the NFL. Maybe guarantees that don't count against the cap if the player is cut is the best way to protect the team and the players?
Carr's leverage decreases by the day.
Claiborne is looking like he is going to be healthy, and shouldn't be a terrible option as 3rd corner.
The Cowboys can certainly role with Scandrick - Jones - Claiborne - Patmon/White.
No team would or should consider that a problem.
Carr is a luxury at this point.

Wouldnt call Carr a luxury when Mo has the history he has, Jones (while the ceiling is high) is an unknown, Patmon/White as well.
Carr has to worry all the way up to September. If he takes a pay cut he can still guarantee 4-5 million this year by taking a pay cut and also make a team option at the beginning of free agency next year to avoid this situation.
I'd rather have Hardy back next year than have Carr this year. Let's put it that way.
I admit I see things totally differently than GB... I do not see Carr as a "luxury", nor do I see the position as a strength.
Without Carr, you have 1 proven guy (Scandrick) and that isn't nearly enough.
What is carr's cap hit for next season if we keep him this year?
13.8 million
13.8 million
And that's a lot of money.
But, if he's released after this season, his "dead money" is $7.4 mil, which would give a positive difference of $6.4 mil, which would enable the Cowboy to go out and get a better CB within that salary window– which I think is very doable.
