That was a spot on assessment by Charles Davis, particularly this ...

Davis: Dak is already a better pocket guy than RGIII could ever hope to be. And number two, when Dak uses his legs, I think he uses them more skillfully rather than helter-skelter type.

I will add one last thing: Look at the body composition. That's a thick, stout guy in Dak Prescott. RGIII much more wiry, much more susceptible to the hits. So I think a lot of things go into it. But I go back to something we talk about a long time ago: The credit that goes to Dak Prescott and to the Cowboys staff for having a real plan for how to develop this young man as opposed to maybe some other places that had young talents and didn't know how. ... It's almost like one of those picture books where as you flip, every single detail gets filled in fast and all of a sudden there's a big house. That's what I saw develop this year with Dak Prescott. He gets the credit for putting the work and the time in, the Dallas staff gets the credit for having a plan, and introducing it when he was ready - and sometimes he jumped a few steps to be ready for things quicker. I think going forward I don't anticipate the drop-off that happens to other quarterbacks.

Now remember: He had an extraordinary first year. So to maintain those same numbers probably isn't realistic but that doesn't mean he won't be a better quarterback.

I made the same observation, as did many in this forum. Dak is a better technical quarterback both throwing and running than RGIII ever was and, likely, ever will be. The Browns being ready to move on from RGIII tells you all you need to know.

And I believe Dak will throw more interceptions next year, but he will be a better quarterback.

That's what stood out to me. You play the hand your dealt but man has Garrett had some ***-saver hands dealt to him. He was gifted Romo and in my opinion wasted that guy's career, and now he's stumbled into this unprecedented cool customer in Dak. Talk about getting your job saved by a miracle. And I like the guy, but it is what it is.

If Romo did not have Garrett as his HC he may actually have a chance at getting into the HOF

So from looking at the transcript, he talked about how Dak was different than RG3, but didn't talk about how he was different than Foles' 1 great year? I find Dak's year pretty similar to Foles' not RG3's, so I find it interesting he just ignored that comparison.

I dont think dak will have a slump, but teams will know him and know better how to defense him.
Will the giants sweep cowboys again ?? they seemed to know how to stop not just dak but the whole offense.
I would look at the giants dallas games to see what went on there, if I was a DC and Dallas was a team I had to play.

One thing is giants have a good secondary, so hard to find guys as open as dak likes.
Better game plan by cowboys would help when playing giants or similar teams.

One game was a rookie game and the other was horrible weather. Not really an excuse.

Truthfully, I have less worries about Dak than I did Romo going into 07. I thought Romo's success may have been unsustainable due to the gunslinger mentality that he had. Dak's game is very sustainable as long as he continues to work hard to improve his craft like Romo did.

The sophomore thing goes both ways. They have film on him and he has film on everybody else. Cowboys are hungry. As long as the main guys stay healthy we'll be back in the playoffs again

As long as Linehan continues to develop the exotic offense he developed last year, Dak will grow even more. So will Zeke. However if he reverts back to his basic offense that everybody can read, we'll have issues.

He will throw more INTs next year and I think he probably should if he is to progress. His one area of weakness is anticipation and as he works to improve that, he is bound to read a few routes differently than his WRs do. If Dak can improve in this area we should score quite a few more points and make the running game even more dangerous.

As long as he puts the time in he will be good. Half of his success was due to ability, the other half was preparation.
