Isn't a message board for posting comments?
Goose, if you're reading this thread, keep doing what you're doing. You just can't win with the superfans, and I oh so enjoy their weekly "my team right or wrong" meltdowns.
My comment had NOTHING to do with him picking against us. It had to do with his inane reasons for doing certain things.
If he picked us to beat Philadelphia at Texas Stadium in 2001, I'd have called him a complete idiot, too. And if we had the No. 1 draft pick, used it to draft a consensus third-tier player, then traded the rest of our draft picks for a third-string long snapper, I'd call him a complete idiot for giving us an "A" -- as his so-called "formula" for grading drafts would dictate.
Again, if I wasn't a Cowboys fan, my opinion of his methods wouldn't change a single iota. They're simply idiotic methods.
It's not common knowledge?
There's a difference between "common knowledge" and everyone knowing. People who are familiar with Goose's methods know that they're idiotic. But not everyone on this board knows that he always picks the home team, nor are they aware that completely illogical methods of doing things are typical of him.
MYTH: No one was trying to disparage Goose in any way.
He deserves to be disparaged. What's ridiculous is that he'd rather be known as a complete idiot or a lazy prognosticator than risk being known as a "homer" or "hater."
Here's an idea -- why not evaluate both teams and say which one you think will win?
Gee, but that would be too risky -- someone might call you a "homer" or a "hater," or worse yet, you might be shown not to be good at evaluating teams. It's [strike]better[/strike] safer just to pick the home team every single time, regardless of who is playing.
That right there is the time to ask "Why bother?"
