- Hi Tim, if the Cowboys were to sign free agent La'el Collins, what kind of contract would he command...anywhere close to first round $? Thanks.

No, as an undrafted player, Collins is very limited in the amount of money he can receive. It's more like 7th-round money. I suspect he will make a number of visits. I am still stunned some team didn't take him in the 7th round. They would have have received a mountain of bad publicity but if the young man is not involved in the case (and it appears he is not the father of the child), they would be getting an absolute steal.- Share

This latest on Brady and the Pats, just like the original stories on it, WAY INFLATED. Should not have been now or then, a story at all. And comparing this to the Saints paying players to injure other players is totally ridiculous.- Share

Mike, I could not disagree with you more. There was never any real evidence the Saints did what they were paying players to do. Regardless, it would not have given them a competitive advantage. This is an example of an organization that once again -- regardless of who was involved -- was trying to cheat the game, to try to gain an advantage. I wrote that Brady should get two games, and around the country that appears to be the low end. A lot of folks calling for half a season, some for the entire year. The bounties are something lots of football teams (and hockey teams) did for many, many years. Trying to cheat the game by tampering with footballs after they had been approved by officials goes to the integrity of the game.
