Rex Ryan: Cowboys' Ware top pass-rusher

New York Jets' coach Rex Ryan stated the obvious in his appearance on ``The Ticket,'' KTCK-AM 1310, this morning. Dallas Cowboys outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware is the best in the NFL at what he does.
``You look at the talent Dallas has, starting with Ware,'' Ryan said. ``That kid is ridiculous. He's the best pass-rusher in football.''
Ware has an NFL-leading 72 sacks in the last five seasons. Only two other players have more than 50 sacks in that span: Minnesota's Jared Allen with 63, and Philadelphia's Trent Cole with 52.

Ryan was promoting his book ``Play LIke You Mean It.''

Really campo being singled out as a good db coach?l

What does Ryan know!! Ware never gets a sack in key moments. At least that is what I hear around here...

72 Sacks, child's play. They all come during garbage time.

How much garbage time has this team had in the last 5 years? 72 sacks is a ton of garbage time.

Im so pumped to see what he can do for this football team

Rex was the one doing the interview not Rob, but I get your point, I am equally pumped.

Hmmmmmmm Rex Ryan thinks Campo is a good coach/asset to the Cowboys.........

But but I've heard so many here say he's pathetic and needs to be fired. Surely they know more from sitting on the couch than some stupid NFL head coach.

It's kinda funny how, now that Rex Ryan has endorsed Campo, the Campo-bashers are avoiding this thread as if it was never posted. The same thing mysteriously happened when Garrett came out and said that he told Campo that he wanted to keep him in some capacity with the Cowboys, one way or another. :p:

I think since Ryan knows he is stuck with Campo he will say nice things about him; and Campo is a nice guy so It is no surprise to me.

Interesting that Rex Ryan would be commenting so gushingly about the Cowboys, particularly Campo. The Ware compliments don't surprise - Ware's a monster.

Well, they are in the coaching fraternity. And I'm not seeing a lot of development from out DB's.

I think technique wise, Campo understands it all well and can coach it. But, I think the players don't have a lot of respect for him and with Wade's lackadasical coaching style, that didn't help matters.

It does appear that Garrett was trying to find a replacement for Campo as well.

hahahahah someone downplaying ware's talent? We are talking about the guy that fractured his neck and came back to play the next week and got 3 sacks against a divison rival,.,give me a break dude. You never see Ware because he is always double teamed, always, look at how many times he is being blocked by a tight end and gets a sack. lol wow ragging on dware,,,wow..:bang2:

The story was that Campo would be retained on the staff in any event. The guy's a good coach and a Dallas Cowboy through-and-through. He deserves more respect that he gets.

I understand that people dislike him because of his head coaching stint, but that really shouldn't extend to his role as secondary coach. He did a pretty good job with these guys in '09. I'm surprised to see Rex Ryan single Campo out specifically on a staff that's got its share of good coaches, but good for him.

He rarely does - with the game on the line. (Please, don't use the New Orleans game because that was a rare exception.)

That doesn't mean he's not great. I'd just like to see more sacks to close out teams.

Translation: We're going to torch the Cowboys secondary when we play them. So continue on doing what you're doing, Campo.

It's the classic "Butter the turkey before you stick it in the oven" quote.

Ah, the old 'say the opposite of what you mean' trick. That trick fools everybody.
