Wasn't Reagor one of the reasons why IND have had one of the worst run-defenses over the past few years? He's only 6'3", 285 lbs, reflective of IND's preference of having had its DL being light and speedy to get pressure on the QB over being big and bulky to stuff the run.

Yeah - exactly.

I guess 'Goose' didn't get the memo.....

Like I've stated before, preseason rankings means NOTHING! Let all the rankings be done on the field come September!

This ranking would not have angered me had Goose been a bit less homeristic.

This jerk comes off as impartial because he doesn't rank Dallas too highly, ever. But the truth is he isn't impartial at all. He is a Cowboy hater and Tennessee Titan fan.

The Titans who he has rated right behind the Cowboys hAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give me a friggin break.

Dallas was much better last year, much better during the off-season, much better after the draft, much better in the upcoming pre-season and will be much better in the season.

If goose was graded on anything but how much info he begs from team informants about the draft he's be jobless.

Almost every major publication lists Philly and Dallas very close in the chase for the NFCE...Goose 6 and 15....

Goose is an idiot.

If anyone ever deserved to be insulted or bashed for rankings Goose is the guy and this ranking is just one of many.

Reagor was a high school LB/DE, then an undersized college DE, then an undersized pass rushing DT.

He's a local kid and great guy but he isn't a run stuffer at all.

He will get sacks in Philly though.

Am I the only that thinks the Seahwaks are not a good team...which is why it makes it even more painful that WE KEEP LOSING TO THEM!!!!!!!!! I think they will have a tough time winning their division...and I know they are not 6 spots better than us...regardless of the fact they beat us. Gosh, I really cannot stand losing to a team that is not better than us over and over and over again. Especially the bizzare ways in which we lose to them

Gosselin's 'Eagle Love' continues.

Montae Raegor helping against the run?

Let's ask the Colts about that......

You are right, he gives them too much credit all the time. They are too high on his list. I don't have a problem where he has Dallas, but could be a few spots higher. However, I understand why he has the Eagles over the cowboys. And that was the way both teams played the last 5 games last year. He is exactly right about Romo, how will his play be, who shows up. As where the Eagles had conssistent play with Garcia.

Funny where he placed them going by what he wrote about the Titans.

The Titans won six of their last seven games in 2006 to finish at .500. But NFL Rookie of the Year Vince Young will be without a 1,200-yard rusher (Travis Henry) and his two top receivers, Drew Bennett and Bobby Wade, who both left in free agency. Elite cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones also will sit the 2007 season with an NFL suspension.

Dallas is a middle of the road team, and until the prove otherwise should be ranked middle of the road. The Eagles keep winning the division, regardless of the reasons, they still keep winning, they should be ahead of Dallas.

The top two make little sense to me:

1. New England: So they loaded up on some big name free agents. Has this actually ever worked??? Washington has failed for years with this strategy. I remember Miami trying this tactic near the end of Shula's career. The tactic seems to bomb every time. I also think Moss is done.

2. San Diego: They're going to be better this season after losing their head coach, offensive coordinator, and defensive coordinator. Does anyone else think they might experience at least a small amount of growing pains???

The only thing about New England is that they did so damn well with what they had; I mean is there any question the Colts had more talent that the Pats? And even then, the Pats were a few minutes away from winning. Now, they have monster talent at Wide reciever and the most versatile defensive player in AD... This is a whole new season so who knows, but I think if the Pats had these players in that AFC championship game they would have won hands down.

San Diego is another matter; Norv knows nothing about being a HC, and personally I don't know anything about the coordinators they have now... All the great ones from last season have left so we have to see what Norv cooks up.

Donte Stallworth is an injury waiting to happen, and Randy Moss isn't the same player he used to be. I don't think Moss has enough discipline to develop his game enough to compensate for his diminishing skills. The Patriots also have a lot of older players at key positions on defense - especially linebacker. They will have to be healthy at the end of the year to compete for the superbowl - that scenario is probably unlikely. The advantage that the Pats have is that their division isn't very good.

The Cowboys are a playoff team and a botched field goal hold from round 2 of the playoffs.

The Eagles being ranked higher is fine, but not 9 slots higher??? Not after the off-season where the Eagles seemed to struggle a good deal and Dallas lost next to nothing of value. They Swapped Bledsoe for Johnson which is about even as far as backup QB is concerned.

The rated list is so screwed up I didn't bother to break it down 1-32.

Dallas might only be about 12th. Maybe even 13th to some folks but those would be low ratings that discounted Romo, the defensive youth, adding Ken Hamlin, adding Leonard Davis.. et al.

Leonard David might have been overpaid as a very average LT but he is a plus guard and here he is playing guard. Davis is much better than an injured Rivera.

Hamlin is worlds better than Watkins as a rookie.

Dallas did not get worse anywhere(unless it was head coach because the starters are back). When a playoff team improves at 3 or 4 positions that team should not be considered middle of he pack....

There will be some concerns for this team and legitimately so but this isn't a spare team by any means. The talent is significant.

Pitted against say the Titans this team is basically better at every position. And yet was ranked 1 higher, pshhhhhh.

I would agree with you.

I think the 2006 Cowboys were a group which underachieved - given the talent level.

I don't think they lacked talent.

Again I am cool with where they are at, they are average right now until they prove otherwise.

This list is a complete joke. I could exuse Dallas at 15 if it was an out of town writer. Chalking it up to a simple oversite. But this smacks of an agenda.

My top 10:

NE
SD
IND
BAL
DAL
PHI
NO
CIN
DEN
NYJ

I see NE and SD a cut above. IND and BAL on the next level. DAL PHI NO and CIN are interchangeable.
I thought going into this preseason, the NFC/NFC East majority pick would be Dallas.

Maybe Cinci, but NO and Philly, stomped the **** out of Dallas last year.

I still don't think Dallas wins the division.

If I am being honest with myself, I have it
Philly
Dallas
Washington
NY

Just the way I see it...

Some may consider this a 'homeristic' point of view, but I feel that the Cowboys were a more talented team than the Eagles were last season.

But in both games, it seemed that they were out-schemed and out-coached.

I still feel the Cowboys have more overall talent, but I'll just have to wait and see if they effectively utilize that talent this year.

Your statement isn't homeristic at all; It's just that Andy Reid is one of the top HC's if not the best head coach for getting his team focused and getting the most out of the talent they have. Every few years, they let their players go and don't sign big names (besides Kearse and TO, but that was an abberation because they wanted to win the SB that year) because they can't afford to pay them since they are still paying money to the contractors for that new stadium... What Reid does with that team never ceases to amaze me, that bastid.
