Hall of Fame Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach (right) and current quarterback Tony Romo visit onstage during the Dallas Cowboys Kickoff Luncheon held at Cowboys Stadium for the first time, Wednesday, September 1, 2010.
Former Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach recently went on 103.3 KESN-FM ESPN Dallas' Cowlishaw & Mosley Show to discuss the team. Here are some highlights.
On his thoughts on Tony Romo and his impact on the Cowboys:
"I haven't just jumped on the Tony Romo bandwagon. I remember the Thanksgiving day game, I think it was against the Packers, when he first got his chance. You could just see he had these abilities to make plays and he had a good arm, he could move. He had that 13-3 season, too. I've been a Tony fan for a long time. I think he's just a fantastic football player and he's proven also that it's not your physical part on the field, it's the mental part of getting your teammates confident. Just him playing last week, I think the offensive team played better and the defensive team played better. I've always liked Tony as a football player so I'm not surprised at all the great things he's doing last year and this year."
On if the Cowboys still have a chance at the postseason at 3-7:
"I'm excited about the game on Thursday. They're 3-7 and I don't think if someone told me that I'd be really excited about the Cowboys playing Carolina. But they're still in it and at 3-7 their division is helping them stay in it. They're a better team now (with) the health of Dez (Bryant) and Tony. So I think we can beat anybody that we play, it's just can we win six more games in a row?"
