Sabin: Scott Linehan's poker face helping Cowboys with their revolving door offense

IRVING -- It's hard to read Scott Linehan. Most of the time he's wearing a poker face, which suits him well considering he's an offensive coordinator and masking his intentions is an essential part of his job description.
Each week, the tone of Linehan's baritone voice never changes. It's measured.
It was again this week -- only days after he watched the Cowboys' best outlet receiver, running back Lance Dunbar, tear his left anterior cruciate ligament in a loss to New Orleans.
It was just the latest bit of bad luck dealt to Linehan, who has experienced plenty of adversity during the first quarter of the season after quarterback Tony Romo and Dez Bryant went down in the first two weeks with broken bones. Entering Sunday's game against the New England Patriots, Dallas' offense has been deflated by misfortune.
"Injuries happen to everybody in the league," Linehan said calmly. "This year we have had more than our fair share. But the whole idea is the next-man-up mentality. We've got guys we believe in that can go in and do the job. We've just got to approach things a little different."
