In addition to possibly losing Jeff Ireland to the Dolphins, Todd Archer reports that Tony Sparano is expected to talk to the Falcons about their head coaching position.

these guys wont be leaving because of money. they will be leaving because of career advancement. Not money.

I was suprised sporano stayed last year personally. He is as good as gone this year.

Hopefully we will not lose garrett.

Big reason why these guys are getting interviewed right now is because of the open week and teams only have this period of time to talk with them so this is not a big suprise to see these guys being asked to interview.

I really think this is unfair.

I know that teams want to start hiring as soon as possible....but our coaches should be getting ready for the playoffs....not interviews.

I don't really know what the NFL should do. I understand teams want to get going right away...but we're trying to get ready for the playoffs.

I agree - it's a little distracting or at least the potential is there for distraction.

its not like Jerry should stand in the way of staff career advancement

that would not be a good sign for any future people looking to work here

I do think he keeps Garrett though...even if he has to pay him head coaching type money to stay and have him as the Asst coach/OC as well

It was in one of Jerry's interviews...pretty sure it was NO that was after him.(for offensive coordinator)

Nothing.

yeah but those were different circumstances. i dont remember us
coming off of 13-3 year with a first seed in the playoffs either.

i dont see any carrer advancement happening realistically other than on paper by heading to be the falcons head coach. i forsee about 3 years of rebuilding and crappy teams and by that time his stock will be low.

Ciskowski has been around for ages. Why wasn't he the choice before when Lacewell was told to step aside?
