DMN - Sturm

At least one and possibly two playoff wins are needed to make this season a "success" in my eyes. Just a strong finish to the regular season doesn't do it for me.

I have been one of the believers in this team from training camp, and although I think they have overachieved as a group, I need to see more to be convinced that we are on the cusp of a great run.

I think Romo and Co. will put so much pressure on the Lions offense to keep up, and they won't be able to do so. Just my gut feeling.

Will be interested to see what the Packers do against the Dallas offense that holds the ball. No mistakes, play between the hash marks on passing downs and interrupt the easy pass for Rodgers, and be aggressive and fearless. The Pack are formidable, but not out of the reach of Dallas.

I also think Dallas flat out whips Seattle. This team is posting 41 PPG in the last four. Just win for five weeks and it's SIX.

Honestly, Detroit might have the most balanced team that we will face in the NFC. Their defense is strong and might be able to keep our run in check, which puts more pressure on Romo. We know their offense can be a load.

Green Bay has the offense, mainly Rodgers but their defense is suspect. Seattle has the defense, but it isn't as good as a year ago and their offense is pedestrian. Control Wilson and you control their offense.

Get past this week, and we just might have that #6 in us.

Not only will Suh miss the game, NFLN just said Fairley will also be very unlikely to play.

How does that change your opinion?

I bet when all is said and done, Suh is in there. Not having Fairley will certainly hurt their defense, but honestly, I am more worried about what Detroit can do in the passing game than about their defense. The Lions have the type of offense that can beat our defense pretty soundly. We have been better against the good passing teams though, so I am not freaking out. I know we aren't going to try putting Carr on Johnson one on one again. I would expect to see us double Johnson and match Scandrick up on Tate.

They haven't had Fairley since week 8 anyway.

I cannot see the league posturing by sitting Suh and then changing their minds after a chat with him.

I suppose it could happen, but what does that say about the league? However, if they actually sit Suh, one has to wonder if the capricious nature of Goodall would sit Scandrick for his actions in the Commander game.

What I find interesting is that the team hasn't ignored the OL this whole time, they've just missed badly. Picks in the first few rounds have been used to no positive effect. They've just got red hot with finding OL players there (granted used slightly more primo picks to do so).

I'm hoping their success with OL focus puts bad teams on that vibe and we get better defensive players to fall to us and we keep this train rolling.

not at all worried about them overturning the ruling, esp with his history.

does sturm not post on here anymore?
