DMN: The end of watching Cowboys games as we have come to know them?

Or another drug commercial to some new made up condition that we never herd of before.....like another restless leg syndrome we need to medicate....get out and take a walk now and then....there's your cure....

Yes because walking will cure a burning tingling sensation in your leg which causes you to move your legs nonstop.... Just because you don't know something doesn't mean it is made up.

There you go blaming the parent...come on...its the governments responsibility to take care of our kids. Us parents can't be troubled with that.

And the way I look at it, is that this Govt official is HELPING us take care of our children. Those commercials are on at the wrong time of day.

He is probably embarrassed by them because he is afraid his grandchildren will find his cialis in his bathroom.

My favourite one was the one where the guy was trying to throw the football through a tire but was having trouble hitting the hole. Took cialis and hit the hole every time.

I am totally against this bill. I am probably one of the most conservative people on this board and my faith positions are well known in the PZ.

But there is no way that government should be in the midst of telling private companies who they can sell to. That is restricting commerce for the sake of government regulating morality.

While I feel the commercials are inappropriate and I don't care for them no matter when or where they are shown, it doesn't give me the right to tell a private company how to do business.

The way to deal with this is that if there are enough people who are outraged by this, then they should write to the network, the advertiser and the local affiliate to get their point across.

If you give the government an inch they will assuredly take a mile.

So you wouldn't mind it if your tween kids were bombarded with Girls Gone Wild commercials while trying to watch football?

Absolutely. I get annoyed by my ten-year old giggling at some geriatrics getting frisky in these commercials. The government must help!

Moral of the story: Don't have children.

If I want to be bombarded by GGW commercials while I watch football, that's my business.....hell if YOUR kids should ruin it for me. :D j/k

You failed to comprehend my post.

This has nothing to do with me not wanting them on the air. IT has to do with government interference in private business.

As I said, the way to handle this is not turning the government into a nanny state where they have to wipe your butt for you, but to go to the entities responsible and voice your concern.

You are still a sick and perverted person. Go shop at Wal Mart you elitist and shut up about me.

Sure, that's the easy part...

Now explain what to say when they ask why two people are sitting in separate bathtubs in the middle of nowhere...
You tell the kid that it is just part of the adult time you were talking about and leave it at that (while you think to yourself, "I have no idea why.")

I wouldn't have that problem. I know how to use the remote to change the channel or put things on mute.

When commercials come on the radio, about strip clubs in Lawton and OKC, I don't freak out and go "OMG! HOW DARE THEY AIR THAT! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!"

I simply turn the radio off, of flip to another station. It's pretty simple, really, and doesn't take any real effort at all.

Of course some don't want to be bothered with taking even that little amount of effort, they'd rather the government take care of everything for them.

Actually, no offense bro, but you don't have a clue what you're talking about. I've got restless leg syndrome and it sucks. It's not painful, or anything, just annoying. Walking isn't a cure for it and exercise doesn't keep it from happening. It most certianly will slow down the occurances, without a doubt, but it won't stop it from happening.

I exercise every day now, play wallyball, flag football, run a mile a couple times a week and I still have it flare up a few times a month. I don't take anything for it though, it goes away on its own quickly enough, it's just annoying.

First, the idea of first allowing any kind of advertising on television then having citizens write their congressmen if they don't like what they see is interesting, but not practical.

Just out of curiosity, what percentage of adults in this country do you think are in favor of having erectile disfunction commercials airing while they are watching television with their younger children?

Probably the same as those that are in favor of watching beer commercials about how great drinking is, or the latest violent movie flick that is advertised, or any other type of commercial that might have something offensive or annoying in it.

The really neat thing about each and every one of them is that they're easily avoided. It only takes the click of a button.

What a screwy world ! 20 years ago I would have been amazed that this type of stuff would be allowed on TV . 20 years later I'm surprised anybody cares that it's on TV .

Changing the channel is practical for programming, but commercials are everywhere - sometimes in blocks on multiple channels at the exact same time - and pop up with no warning.
