The Cowboys have a rich history of defensive lineman and they got the big ones here in the list.
My question. I watched all of Demarcus Ware's career here in big d. Most of it was lined up at end with a hand down trying to bend around a tackle for a sack.
Are they listing/considering him a linebacker?
Otherwise for jay Ratliff to get votes and ware not.......insanity

I stopped reading once I didn't see Demarcus Ware #1. Maybe they don't consider Ware a lineman but rather a LB?

The top five are valid and without much question. Loved them all, but I have an autographed t-shirt and pictures with my wife and daughter-in-law with Bob Lilly. Manster still looks like he could chew off a head and pee down the nub!

Give almost anything for this D Line to have a Manster and Harvey Martin on it right now

Harvey Martin...

I recall as Harvey Martin was just starting out in his career, Ernie Stautner took him aside and told him that he wasn't mean nor physical enough to measure up as an elite DE. Once that motivational tidbit sunk in, the transformation in Martin had begun to go full throttle. In fact, he started totally dominating every LT that resided in front of him, one by one. There were vicious head slaps and all, including a plentiful supply of forearm smashes to the neck of many poor, suffering QBs as well. Harvey was a certified terror from that point on. He was also one of my all-time favorites from then on. I've always felt it was a travesty that he didn't reach the Hall of Fame.

Nice share, Bullflop. My Uncle was a high school football coach in Texas...he taught me the forearm smash to the face mask...lol.

Looking at our amazing history, we've been very blessed with depth of greatness at QB, RB, OL, DL, but Secondary and LB's a little lean.

Don't get me wrong, we've had some all time greats (Harris, Howley, Renfro, etc.) at those positions, but not near the lineage as with some other positions (CB is really lean with home-grown talent IMO).

Bob Lilly was a terror to opposing guards and a gentleman at all times off the football field. I have a treasured autographed copy of his book, "A Cowboys Life" that my son got for me as a Christmas present. He, too, was quite impressed how polite and gentle of a human being he was. The time had expired for the signing but Bob stayed late anyhow to accommodate the crowd and my son as well . . . he's just a really nice guy.

I first met him in a restaurant in Dallas...and as you state, he was always a person who shared with the fans.
