Mel Renfro should be there somewhere. Sure, he only played safety five years out of his 13-year career, but he was a pro-bowler all five of them, and all-pro three times. I think he belongs on that list no lower than #4.

Williams being ahead of Washington surprised me. They must have been thinking about his first couple of years more than the others.

Roy Williams is to high on that list. Not sure he would make my top 5.

With Woodson I would might kept Roy Williams on that list. However, he ended up out of the league because he couldn't cover, tackle or stop the run...Just my opinion. I had such high hopes for him.

Useless article if these writers don't know their history. Mel Renfro and Cornell Green make all-time Greatest Cowboys lists but aren't included in their top 5 safeties? Really?!

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and blame it on the "baseball lull" before training camp starts. Nothing to talk about so why not make a list that is not well planned or thought through.
