Todd Archer:
I'm happy for your TV, DMoney. I understand the move. I find it funny that some people who did nothing but kill Flo for the last few years are now up in arms that the Cowboys decided to cut ties. I think you cut ties a year too early than a year too late. There was slippage in Adams' game in 2009 but he was still effective in protecting Tony Romo's blindside. I'm OK with this move but I think Adams will be a starter somewhere this year.

Why is everyone so down on Roy Williams? He is what he is, a possession receiver and a major endzone threat. Its not his fault Jerry overpaid for his services. I just think alot of people need to put his contract aside and let him do what he does. I understand he dropped alot of passes last year but I personally think that was a fluke season for him. I can remember watching this guy in college and in Detroit and thinking to myself man this guy has some of the best hands Ive ever seen. Would you agree that he is not the kind of receiver that is gonna put up 1400 yds a season but can easily make 10 TD's and is that enough to shut these fans up who keep wanting to dump him?
Tuesday April 13, 2010 11:27 Seth
11:29
Todd Archer:
If he has 70 catches for 1,000 yards to go with those 10 touchdowns, then, yes, he'll make the fans happy. He is paid like a No. 1 wide out but he has put up No. 3 wide out numbers. That's why people are upset. I think he's better than what he's shown here over 25 games but at some point you have to wonder. You can't put the contract to the side. And you can't forget the picks they gave up to get him. The expectation level should come down but that doesn't mean people should be happy with his production.

What's wrong with being one of the favorites? They won the division. They have just about everybody back. I'll go with November. He has to show he's more than a one-year wonder to get a big-time deal. And without a new CBA, it's hard for the Cowboys to do some business. I've been an Austin guy from the beginning. He has talent you can't coach. He has size and speed and he put it all together last year. The Cowboys want to see a little more of it. Go back to 2006 when Tony Romo splashed on the season. The teams waited until the middle part of the 2007 season to give him a big deal. I'd see something similar with Austin.

David Moore is on that bandwagon. I'm not quite there yet. I don't see Wes Welker when I see Shipley play. He can fill some holes on a roster but he's not very big. Welker is solidly put together. Maybe Shipley could become that way, but not right away. I'd be somewhat surprised if the Cowboys went for Shipley.

Do you know the dates the Cowboys will be in Oxnard, CA this year?

They haven't released that yet. Just a guess, so don't hold me to this but I would say they get there around Aug. 12 or 13 and stay for two weeks.

Do you think more teams will purge their rosters of high contracts(avg. players) after the draft for strategic reasons?

Todd Archer:
Not anymore than in the past. If they wanted to purge guys, they would've already done it in most cases.

Can Sam Bradford really be so good as to help the Rams get respectful again? The hype is the next coming of Marino/Elway..........

I understand why people are high on Bradford. He has the size. He has the arm. Seems like a good kid. But aside from Adrian Peterson when was the last OU skill player to do much of anything in the NFL? Not to offend the Sooners out there, but they haven't had much success.

Do you think the Cowboys would considering taking a Marty Gilyard in the second round. Good young WR with speed and could be a force at PR/KR

Todd Archer:
Gilyard is one of my favorites. He's slight, lie Shipley, but he is a bigger big-play threat. With the current set up at WR, the Cowboys can ease a rookie into the mix.

Who will be the Cowboys place kicker next year?

David Buehler ... but I still think they should look at Matt Stover if things are spotty in the off-season stuff.

I do. That's why I would trade up for him. He can cover in the slot. He has good ball skills. He would be a guy I would target.

Thanks for all of the questions. We'll do some more of this with the draft coming on fast, I'm sure. Remember to check out the blog for updates.
Courage.

People way over react after one year or even two years on draft picks. Jenkins was a bust because of one bad play
