Partly because they don't know where to put him. OLB in 3-4 or LDE in 4-3. As OLB he's completely new to that and as LDE he's too weak now to play the run. He may have great ability to bend but he'll also get washed out by good NFL tackles.

That's true but he's no different than Hardy IMO.

Yes and no. He'll satisfy the role as pass rush specialist but he's not going to be very good if the team's realize he can't play the run. The same was with Gregory last year.

In workouts they have said Spence isn't nearly as athletic as they thought he was...I don't think he is nearly as good of a prospect as Gregory was, so hopefully we will see growth out of him once he gets off of suspension.

I don't see any comparison between Hardy and Spence other than checkered past. If you were comparing them (jobberone) in style of play I completely disagree.

I actually think Hardy and Bosa play more similar style- power and technique vs more speed rusher such as Spence and Gregory.
