The countdown is on..
Yeah, I think we're at the count of "6" as in 6 loses without Romo.
When couldn't even give him something to work with.
The countdown is on..
It will be nice to see him back out there.
But the absolute WORST case scenario this year is us going 8-8 and missing the playoffs, while also missing out on a good draft pick. Which to be honest, is exactly what I think is going to happen. We will miss the playoffs, and miss out on a top draft pick. An absolute epic fail to 2015. If we're going to have an injury riddled year, at least give me the draft pick.
That's not the worst case scenario for me... If we finish the season 4-12, this place would be almost unbearable for me to frequent... Romo broke his collarbone and people are already planning for his retirement like it's tomorrow... If we were to go 2-5 with Romo playing, all we'll hear about is how we need to blow the team up, and that our first pick needs to be a QB... Sean Lee is on pace to play in 15 out of 16 games this season, a career best, and he's been our best LB this season, but people are also calling for his immediate retirement... After a 4 or 5 win season, y'all would be ready to run everybody including Romo and Dez out of town...
Most of us agree that if Romo and Dez had stayed healthy, our record right now would likely be 6-2 (give or take a game)... So we know why we're losing, but that hasn't stopped many from having the attitude that basically says, all of our coaches suck, and most of our players suck... To go 8-8, Romo would have to go 5-2 or 6-1 to finish the season, which is what I'm hoping for... 8-8 would have us picking between 14-20 in the first-round, I can live with that... I would rather be able to feel good going into next season being able to say that the Cowboys were 8-1 in games that Romo started...
This team without Romo is what it is... worst case. There is no reason to think your worse case scenario will happen. But if it did happen, I think this team is given a pass from the FO no matter how the media or fans respond. Thanks to Mr. Greg Hardy, the FO has already shown they don't care what external force are saying when it comes to making moves on this team. The FO has a plan, and until that plan is allowed to be implemented without being impeded by injuries, it will remain intact. BTW, Sean Lee is not going to play 15 of 16 games with his concussion situation on going.
I think this team is too far gone for Romo to get us to the playoffs but we will see him win most of the games he plays which will make most fans feel good about going into next season.
I don't think something like 4-12 will happen either, but my point was regarding people acting like they'd prefer that rather than 8-8... As for Lee, he is only scheduled to miss one game so far, and it is not really the norm for players to miss more than one game because of a concussion, so I don't see why you would assume that he'll miss more games because of it... Malcolm Jenkins also suffered a concussion in that game and he will miss the Eagles' game this Sunday, but I doubt that their fans are planning on him missing extended time because of it... I know it's Lee's second concussion this season, but he didn't miss any games after the first one, and I don't expect him to miss multiple games after this one...
