Although even if he doesn't pan out, I have confidence in Randle. Lots of folks around here are dogging him, and I think he'll prove them wrong.

I know that is what I'm hoping for. I think if he can somehow avoid the nagging injuries he has a chance to help this team.

I'm not in favor of it. When a runningback is hot and you sub another runningback during a drive it does tend to stop momentum. You don't fix what isn't broken.

But I do trust Linehan and if there is an OC that can get this to work its him. I can't stress enough how lucky we are to have two quality assistant coaches in Linehan and Marinelli.

And this is what I'm expecting to happen. Someone will emerge as the "primary" back and the other will be more of a "relief" back.

I imagine the primary back will get 15ish carries per game. Maybe more depending on how things are rolling.

Of course, injuries will likely play a factor so we'll see how things go on that front.

Patriots are a passing team. They don't win by running the ball. Even their RB by committee didn't even come close to the production that Murray had last year. Thus I don't see anything special with their approach.

Not true. You think Seattle wins because of their passing attack? The main reason why we went to the playoffs last year was because of our running game.

I think it's more fun having dominant back. Of course, you have to actually have one of those--and one who can do it multiple years hopefully.
Even Philly plans to use a committee (RBC) this year.

RBC is the general way the league has been going with a few exceptions.

We looked at the last 9 SB winners and I think it was 7 had mostly a RBC approach.
Seattle (Lynch) and Baltimore (Rice), I think, were the only true exceptions.

But yeah, it's more fun watching a bad-*** RB (and line) demoralizing another team.

It all depends. If we're trying to give all 3 of ou RBs even touches; I feel it'll only disrupt the flow or momentum if you'd call it that a player gets when they are breaking off yards then have to sit out just to give the others touches.

Now, if we have a lead back to get 20 and the rest follows suit then I feel like it will work.

I've seen thunder and lightning with this team too many times to think otherwise. We've always won with that running back that carried the load. The game has evolved but I still see lead backs getting at least 20 carries a game.

SEA obviously wins because they are hard to pass against successfully because they play great defense.

Re RB in Dallas, clearly they've thought all along we can get it done with the three we've got. Or that they'll add one late if they were wrong on DMC. I can see their reasoning, at least.

McClay seems high on Randle, too. That's good to hear.

I listened to the original interview.

He was very confident that they could get a decent RB if needed; however, they asked him about OT and he was very pessimistic that they could find a decent one anywhere.
