Insider information ...I overheard an ESPN Total Access analyst say that Any Reid would be on the phone talking to Holmgren about what to do/what not to do against the Giants.

When you think about it ...why not! UnLess there's some rule against it, ...it's a win-win situation!

If you ask Andy Reid who he wants to win the game between Seattle and the Giants, you know Andy Reid wants a division rival to lose that game. Like it or not, you've got to admit, that If the Eagles had kept their foot On the Giants neck in the 4th quarter ...well that's history now. But the Giants secondary was exposed during that game ...and the giant's DL gets sloppy at the L-O-S.

Would it be unethical for Reid to give a call to Holmgren? Has it Been done before?

I don't think it would be unethical at all. You're only gonna tell them stuff they could probably figure out, it's not like Reid's stealing the playbook and faxing it to Holmgren or anything.

No arument ...but I do believe that coaches that have played teams last week, may have more information about a given team than what other coach/es may be able to figure out by merely watching film. In fact, I think could be an edge!

I would think he won't tell them more then what they already know.
It is like when a player from one team switch to another. he already knows the playbook or some of it .This player also can just make a copy of his playbook befor they ask him to give it back.

In May 24, 2002 A Philadelphia Eagles playbook was stolen from the car of linebacker Shawn Barber.
also same year 2002 150-page playbooks for The Miami Hurricanes was stolen and posted in the internet.
so I don't think teams worry that much they just adjust weekly

Yeah some of that extra information may be, "Don't kick them in the balls before the last play of regulation. That doesn't help."

In all honesty, I bet coaches do this with their friends in the business, but not on the scale you're suggesting. Andy Reid has enough to worry about trying to get his team prepared. Why spend a lot of time helping another team beat a division rival if if takes away from time you have to spend in order to have your team ready to win?

I suspect it happens between coaches who've worked together in the past and still maintain a personal relationship. Have no doubt that Payton in NO talks to Parcells occasionally and might even have discussed the Cowboy players who the Saints signed/traded even before signing them. I think that kind of thing is pretty common in the NFL. Now between Parcells & Coughlin of the Giants, it's a little different cause they division rivals & frankly we'd like them to lose all the time--unless of course they're playing Eagles & Skins and we might want Giants to win if it might help us.

Better question..

...do Eagles fans post on their own message board?

Of course it happens that coaches give each other advice. Tom Landry gave advice to Bill Parcells years ago when they were coaching on opposing teams in the same division. Bill Parcells has said that he gave advice to Mike Tice a couple of years ago. It happens all the time.

That being said; I'm sure that the advice is more of a general nature and not specific to a given game. They discuss things like how to evaluate talent, how to deal with problem players, how long to stick with a young player (the 3 year rule that Landry passed on to Parcells), and other general coaching advice. I seriously doubt that they tell each other thing like, "Watch for (whatever move) from the Atlanta defense, it means you will have single coverage to the left." That sort of thing they would leave to the other coach to find out for himself.

Well, first of all, I doubt that Holmgren would be able to even understand fat Andy talking on the phone with fat Andy's mouth full of cheesesteak!

Anyway, what is fat Andy going to tell the Seahawks about, that they cannot figure out by themselves? They did go to the Superbowl last year without fat Andy's help!

Besides, the scheme that the Giants used against those eagle losers most likely won't be the same scheme that they will use against the Seahawks...so really, what can fat Andy tell them that they cannot figure out by themselves.

Besides that, Holmgren is a better coach then fat Andy so I really doubt that he needs any advice on how to lose a game...

In reality, Reid was giving Holmgren advice on what to order from the menu at Sizzler. That's not a playsheet in either of their hands when they are on the sidelines.

What do you care???

I, for one, like reading posts from the fans of other teams as they often come from a different perspective than the 'norm'. PhoenixTalon, in particular, starts threads that are interesting, non-inflammatory, and unique. He doesn't go out of his way to poke fun and he's humble about his own team's experiences. Perhaps if there were more DC fans who posted interesting discussions I wouldn't look forward to his messages.

Sounds like you two "ladies" have a thing going on. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Parcells and Belichek talked this pre-season about what they were doing, etc. So of course they talk.

Kilyn, I don't mind you flamming on my team ...in fact I find it humorous sometimes when 5-Tears, Superpunk, WV Cowboy bust my chops about the Eagles ...ok maybe not ...ok Not at all! But they just want to bust my chops because I'm one of maybe 3 other Eagles fans on the Zone.

Instead of making comments about my manhood, let's just try to keep this strictly on a ..."You hate Eagle fans" basis and stay away from challenging anyone's manhood! Speaking of manhood ...do you remember the first time your manhood was put to the test.

I was in the military in a foreign land, being challenged by a foreign soldier. I remember that day because it was the day I believe I became a man. I raised my M-16A directly at the head of the soldier and had to make a decision ...to this day, I believe that I made the right decision.

I guess some people will go to any length to strike back at an opposing point of view. I'll respect your manhood if you'll respect mine and your own Cowboy brother-fan.
