Do players really want to play for dallas, or is this more of a use them to get the price and notoriety I need to get where I want to go? Are the Cowboys still a team that makes a player feel they're going to win the big game? Do you feel that players realize there's issues in Dallas as to why they haven't won anything major in close to 30 years? Do these things and more, attract players to stay away from Dallas? You have a set of owners who like to low-ball players, and feed them that there's a winning culture around this team. I'm not sure if it's based off the success in previous years when they were superbowl champs.

Please give your thoughts

Do they want to play for a team that doesn't care about winning, where they can be stars with minimal effort, and are anointed just for wearing the star?

LOL. Who wouldn't want that?

They want to pay for whoever pays them the most. Jerry needs to get over the idea that people are going to play for the "name" of the Cowboys because none of the current NFL players hitting free agency even remember when the Cowboys were championship contenders. That shine is no longer there so now you have to sell the same way every other team does, by paying more money.

When I heard someone mention that it hurt my spirits, but then I had to chuckle and say to myself, if they don't care, why should I???

Read the reports of college kids coming out. How many of them say they love Dallas or want Dallas? Tons of them

Once you make the league, it’s about money. It’s like any adult job, you may like Costco and enjoy shopping there. But it’s going to pay you at an engineer or IT software developer

I think most also look at taxes. State income taxed teams are at a disadvantage.

Saw an article from PFT that Ramsey contract at 18mil per year, each game played in California he gets taxed 133k per game.
It's zero in Florida.

I think Dallas still has that prestige but it comes down the dollar. If Dallas is offering 6mil, but you can get 8-9mil from another, off you go. Paydays only happen once or twice to a 100's of players, out of thousands. Paying state tax may be worth it if it still comes out ahead from Texas rates.

The cowboys have the ability to be the biggest free agent draw every year- yes, they do. It’s a destination market. Ownership runs the franchise like it isn’t however
