It is always entertaining to hear Darren Woodson, but I can tell you that in my humble opinion, today´s show was not only informative but also pretty telling of what ails the Cowboys.
In a nutshell, what I took from the show is that Darren Woodson implied that there were unclear lines of authority within the Cowboys and there was little accountability/ consequences for bad play.He further stated that fear of loosing playing is the one driving force of professional athletes and that he did not sense that this current group pf players felt any fear of loosing playing time.
Further, DW stated that there weren´t enough soldiers (role players) and to many generals. He also said that in the 90's Cowboys, leaders such as Irvin would question rookies as to where their heart really was with regards to the ultimate goal (winning superbowls).
The most worrying aspect of this, is that if it is true, we can hardly expect to win Superbowls under the current structure/way of doing business and the results obtained by the Cowboys since the last Superbowl (when we had a coach that could instill some fear in the players) would support this.
I understand that you can argue that when we had such a coach (parcells) no better results were obtained; still I believe Darren Woodson´s opinion is telling.
