Do our players actually care?

Legit question. I’ve never once seen one of our players get angry or upset. All they do is dance in the end zone. They got excited during the Atlanta game after the onside kick, but that’s it.

So that leads me to the next question. Do the players on this team truly care? Like many have said, it’s like D-Law and Jaylon stopped caring. Even Zeke, partially, (though I’m kinda in a weird phase with him right now). Then, when they lose, they just hang their heads, go to the locker room, and come out next week doing the same thing.

You never see teams like the Patriots, Saints, Packers, etc doing this. So why is it us? It can’t be the coaching. We just did a mass overhaul earlier this year. I know many will say it’s “Jerry Jones” but... I don’t quite understand how overall he would control how this team acts. Maybe the culture behind it, yes. But why do these players show no emotion? No gut? No instinct? What’s going on here?

I don’t think this team cares about winning too much. They don’t care about winning it all. They don’t care about winning. They don’t care about anything but the money. And that saddens me. Maybe Jerry can sell the team to a homeless man and the players will act right to see who can fight over the small amount of change said homeless Dallas owner has...

I doubt anyone on that team is proud of what they did on that field today

They have made come backs down 15, 14 amd 27 the last 3 weeks. So yes, they do care. They just arent that good, and not that smart

Some care very much.
There may be some who don’t care that much.

It’s different for them man. It’s a career. I’m sure they all want to play well. But players are also conditioned to not get too down and keep their heads up because there’s a lot of season left to play.

I mean it’s a moral victory and all, which is for losers, but they’ve mounted 3 pretty remarkable comebacks now when they should’ve been dead in the water.

that says something to me about heart and effort personally.

People complain about Dez showing too much emotion, then rag on Cooper for not showing enough. What do you want?

I never minded Dez getting mad. some did, but I did not. I’ve always advocated for getting a dawg on the team. Someone that isn’t afraid to get angry. That’s why I enjoyed Bennett being here last year.

This is an interesting question. Do they care? Probably to some degree. I remember in the 70's Dallas expected to win every game and we were a team that others feared. Then we sucked in the 80's. Then Jerry, Jimmy and the triplets came in the 90's. The 70's and the 90's teams seemed to take losing a lot harder than the current Cowboys. The 90's teams I am more familiar with than the 70's team. The 90's team hated to lose. They expected to win every game and when they didn't play perfect they got on themselves. Irvin, Aikman, Smith and the rest took a lot of pride in winning and they took it personally when they lost. This team reminds me of the 80's and 2000's teams. I don't feel like they expect to win. I feel like they want to compete and hope to win. But when they lose they don't seem to take it as hard or as personally as the 90's team. This team has an 80's/2000's vibe to them. They just hope to compete. Just my observation.

The defense has no self-starters. They all need external motivation. On offense, Dak is a self-starter and it carries over to everyone else.

Unfortunately, if players can’t self-start, coaches have to do it. The defensive staff isn’t up to the task.

They care. I’ll never buy that professional football players do not care.

There is a host of things wrong here but “not caring” isn’t one of them. No one wants to get embarrassed every week in any sport but this is doubly so in football. It is straight up physical combat out there on an NFL field. You can’t play the game and not care. You’ll get hurt. It’s like stepping into an MMA octagon, boxing ring, or on a wrestling mat. You’re putting yourself in a combative physically demanding position and you either step up or get hurt.

They care.

A lot I’m sure.

I think some care:

Diggs, Hill, Wilson.

Some used to care, hopefully they still do:

Lewis, X. Woods,

Some care, but don't care enough:

Lawrence, Griffen

Some care, but are careless:

Thompson, Chido, Worley.

And some don't care and just want to look like they care.

Jaylon Smith
