Do some fans not even realize how much this franchise has bottomed out?

The last few years seen a lot of comments from some fans making fun of our players who leave in free agency and saying it's only about the money.

This year it's Jourdan Lewis and Tank taking the brunt of the homer comments. They're all about the money because they are going to teams like the Jags and Seahawks.

I guess my question for those people is do you actually realize how bad this team has been since 1997?
  • Almost at bottom of list of total Playoff Wins in NFL.
  • Haven't even come close to sniffing a Super Bowl.
  • Never made it out of the Divisional Round.
  • Long list of bad Head Coach hires.
This is not an expansion team. Why would any player NOT think he had a better chance to win somewhere else?

On top of that, our plan moving forward, shows no light at the end of the tunnel.

Who believes GM Jethro's plan, of build through the draft only, is going to translate to success???

I think that money is the main thing that most players look at. The Cowboys aren't going to be as bad as Washington was just a year ago when they were drafting at the 2 spot. It's likely that the Cowboys will be healthier than they were last year and could actually have a better year than they did. They could actually improve.

Ask Dante Fowler.

I think the mistake you make and others make is you guys think these guys really care about winning. It’s secondary to money. It’s just reality.

So when you hear guys like Jourdan Lewis and D Law leave…they don’t leave because they want to win. They leave because they want someone to pay them.

Let’s remember Law has signed 3 contracts with this “bottom” franchise. Lewis I believe twice.

What you are seeing is bitter exes. Why? Im sure it’s something simple such as they have raised their family here and now have to uproot them. Let’s not pretend like people don’t play for bad teams. Someone this offseason will sign with the Cleveland Browns.

It can get worse

You state the truth.
The attempts by some to regulate how to be a fan and post your opinion on this lack of success is tiresome.

Sometimes my responses to those types have sarcasm in order to lighten my own burden of always being told how a cheery, positive and Pollyanna fanbase will have ANY effect on the team's on field performance.

News Flash: IT WONT.
Past players are now saying the same stuff that a majority of us realistic Zoners have been saying for a while.
You do you brother and fan how you fan.

The Cowboys haven’t been nearly as bad since 97 as some fans make them out to be. Someone posted the Cowboys have been the worst organization in the entire league over the past 30 years. Fans act like the Cowboys have been in the dumpster bringing up the rear in the NFC East practically ever year. The team has been competitive most years they just haven’t had playoff success. We’ve won the NFC East 6 times since 97 and have had 2 number one seeded teams. We’ve had some very successful regular seasons but it hasn’t gone well in the playoffs. Yes, it’s been very disappointing and frustrating not having won a divisional round game or reached a SB in almost 30 years but there’s teams that have had it much worse than the Cowboys over that period.

They could improve but still won’t make the NFCCG, who cares? . What’s the difference between 2-15 and 7-10? A Higher draft pick for SJ to screw up? The point still remains, three decades and no chances to compete in a SB. Players should leave for more money, and they would have a better chance with 30 other teams every year than they would with the Cowboys.

Anyone who equates regular season success to actual NFL success doesn't understand.
And it's obvious by those comments in their lack of understanding.
Sometimes it's just better to ig them than AGAIN try to explain that true NFL success is measured by post season performance.
It's no use in trying to continuously convince the blind of their ignorance.

Just ig 'em.

I'm sorry I'm not buying into this,
seriously like I don't know where you're coming from, but we signed most of our players, many signed new contracts , at some point it comes to roost, all teams lose players in the same manner.
are you trying to tell me that we should hold on to Tank for another two or three years?!!!
the man had 11 years and when you look at the league even San Francisco's lost three times that number of players we have...
so, your hypothesis is wrong,
I know things haven't been great here but it's far worse other places to win 36 games two division titles and to be in the playoffs 5 out of the last eight years is hardly bottoming out , compared to about too many teams I could list here.
you got players that are staying with teams for money, you know like the Browns that big mouth over there said he wanted to be on a winning team it wasn't about money then they handed him $40 million and he took it and he's staying, on far worse organization than ours..
most of our players stay here, Lewis was here for eight years, multiple contracts in between the injuries and now you're using those two examples of somehow our players are running away LOL
they're leaving the Cowboys because we bottomed out?!! NO, it was TIME!!
are you kidding me????
most of our players stay or come back how do you explain Fowler turning around and coming back if this was so bad at culture over here why players are, even Beasley after his big mouth, bridge burning statements, he wanted to come back here three years ago...

So, no, I am not buying into your premise,

that statement doesn't hold true because you found 2 examples this year of players we finally allowed to let go, wasn't the narrative?

that we like our guys we keep our guys too long we don't know when to let him go, but then when we do let him go come on here and read your statement like it's a big deal... SMH!!!
they will never win, this front office with some of y'all will never win because when they finally do things you ask them to do is let go of some older players that have been part of the problem, but then when they do you make it like it's because the Cowboys aren't a good destination for players to either stay or come and that's not true..

Let me finish this by telling you if you want some proof you want common sense not emotion stop with the hyperbole and rhetoric stop with letting the Jones family dictate everything you say because they live rent free in your head;

there would not be a list of about 300 free agents every year they don't come from the Cowboys, they come from every team every team has to make tough decisions, and let veteran players walk, again , I just brought up San Francisco because they're making all the Super bowls they're winning all the time and they just lost about 30% of their starters... Are you telling me the eagles who just won a Super Bowl last year aren't affected by this the salary cap have to make tough decisions they lost two guys on the defensive line ,they lost two really good defensive backs, and they lost another defensive back, they lost an offensive lineman, these were all critical starters in last year's Super Bowl run.

No you're going to have a little crowd that agreed with everything you said but you know me what you said is not true,

except yes the Cowboys have struggled but that has nothing to do with tank and Lewis leaving, it was time guaranteed if they'd offered him money, he would have stayed they didn't even offer these two players contracts and now they're jaded and now they're squabbles going on between the ones that stayed the ones that left...

you know what that is that's normal that's the human condition it has nothing to do with the Cowboys I if they don't offer tank a reasonable contract, he would have stayed but he got Butthurt because instead they brought over Turner and brought back Fowler instead.

Those are real facts those are not something supporting the hate for the front office those are absolute facts... I mean don't make me go over a list of all the good players that had to leave their teams already in the first week of free agency because, I'm going to show you some big names that left teams that either were in the Super bowl have been in the Super bowl recently or even have won a Super Bowl recently among others like big names this is normal eventually veterans get released..

:hammer:They're trying to make this about Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys lack of success and you're 100% right he's had nothing to do with money this had everything to do with them not getting an offer here and then being overpaid to go somewhere else it definitely is about money and it's not about winning there are so many teams that are not winning that sign big time free agents they act like the Cowboys are somehow worse off than I could think of at least 12 or 14 other teams that haven't even won a division recently they don't make the playoffs as often they don't play on prime time they definitely don't get the recognition in the media that the Cowboys do it makes the Cowboys at least relative on some level that makes it worth being here and most of our players stay so now we're trying to use two examples of players we chose not to make offers to who on their way out are now making waves yeah that's pretty normal...

I think it's hilarious that this guy went through that much trouble to write all that and in reality this happening all around the league and we wouldn't have 300 free agents we wouldn't have these hard cuts and these hard choices being made if you look at what San Francisco is going through even the eagles lost like 4-5 key pieces already that they couldn't afford to keep because they look at it as you have to look at their age versus what they can offer going forward versus the amount of money they're being asked to pay those players then they move they're all moving that's just what free agency is all about..

I still don't get how they're using these two examples of players that we didn't make offers to we didn't really offer them any money they were leaving the Cowboys knew they were leaving the Cowboys are not upset they're leaving and I guarantee one thing if you don't offer them that money or something close say within $1,000,000 they would've stayed it absolutely would have stayed all this is happening because their egos were hurt they said some things the players on our team are sticking up for the team and here we are it's pretty normal.

Stockholm Syndrome. I want better for my team. Some hate that we complain about wanting better. They are so used to losing, that they are happy being “good enough”

D Law said it perfectly, when he said this organization was never going to win a SB, so he left for greener pastures. He's not wrong, until the day comes when Jerry Jones and his sons start acting like real owners and bring in real a real GM, this organization is dead on arrival............

They have a better chance with 30 other teams!!? that's coming from a hater and you're absolutely wrong. You show me those thirty teams that have recently before this rash of injuries happened last year won 36 games two division titles been in the playoffs 5 out of last eight years typically when we have a healthy quarterback in prescott that starts and finishes the season we're typically in the playoffs.. And yet you have players like amari Cooper and even a bigger name in miles Garrett take money and stay on a team that hasn't even won a division title since 1989 so we're so bad here but at least we took the division from those said eagles you're talking about two of three years in recent years.. I know we want more we all want more but don't say things that aren't true there aren't 30 better teams than the Dallas Cowboys in the regular season in the last decade the Cowboys have been top 6 and at times worse top 12 in regular season win percentage we play in prime time because we're still relative I'm not claiming we're not having problems and that we don't wanna go further in the playoffs but when you say something like that that absolutely couldn't be farther from the truth there's at least 20 teams the these are better than but you wait until after they have a year like they did in 2020 or last year where we have a rash of injuries and everything goes wrong to act like we hit rock bottom and it's not true there are teams that have been playing like we did last year for decades and have won nothing not even gone to the playoffs on a regular basis..

BUT, two up in age veterans who weren't offered a contract here left for more money? WOW how crazy huh? , that happens all around the league its called free agency,

other teams are being picked apart like San Francisco and yes even the eagles have lost so far five guys who are pivotal in the Super bowl win they lost starters they made trades because that is what free agency and parody has done to this league this is normal..

but you're picking 2 examples because the original poster brought up two guys who are burning bridges on their way out who the Cowboys no longer wanted they were not even offered a deal, there was no lowball offers!!

Cowboys took a pass because they were older and they've been here and they've been part of the problem you don't understand that do you if they'd have kept these players a big group of you would have said,

they like their guys, they hang on to their guys too long, they don't know when to say goodbye, but either way the front office is cooked because you're going to complain no matter what. FACTS
