There are 5 teams that are more effective in running the ball than the Cowboys, but this can be a misleading stat.
None of the teams that have run the ball more effectively than the Cowboys have run the ball as many times as the Cowboys. A few long runs, don't make you a better running team.
One of the strengths of the Cowboys isn't just how effective they are in running the ball, but also the ability to continue running the ball throughout the game.
With that being said, we're actually 2nd in the league in rushing yards per game. Seattle actually runs the ball better than we do and almost as often as we do (though much of that is coming from their QB).
I don't think we're going to beat Seattle at their own game.
Seattle is the best in the league in rushing yards allowed per attempt, they've also allowed the least amount of yards per game on the ground. They've also only allowed 1 rushing touchdown. They also lead the league in forced fumbles.
We have a running game that we should be proud of, but to answer the question people keep asking, I would say the immovable object is going to win this one.
We're going to have to pass effectively and efficiently to win this game. Who has given Seattle a difficult time? The Chargers and the Broncos.
Rivers threw 37 times against the Seahawks. He took what they gave him, and he didn't turn the ball over once in the process.
San Diego ran fro 2.7 yards per carry against Seattle. I think we can do better if we use the pass to set up the run.
The Broncos didn't beat Seattle, but they did take them into over time at home.
Peyton Manning threw the ball 49 times, but also threw an interception.
Denver rushed for 1.8 yards per carry.
Getting into a shootout is the best way to limit the Seahawks. It's time to use all of our weapons in the passing game to give Seattle's defense some fits.
