Do the Cowboys make a move for a tight end?

But now that life after Witten is a reality my question is do they blink and make a move to bring in a significant TE?

They won't make a play for a TE. They like to come off as smart.

Its pretty much a given that Dallas will pick up a vet tight end maybe towards end of training camp or possibly a wide receiver trade for a tight end.

I doubt it. They actually do like Jarwin and Swaim. They also have the rookie and Rico. I think Rico will be the odd man out. Thats what I expect although I wish Rico was thought of more highly thats not the impression I get.

I don't think they will bring anyone in to be the starter, someone on the roster now will be the starter. They may add names and decide if someone new could be a 2 or 3.

I think we'll find out in training camp. I think Schultz, David Wells, and Jarwin will make for an interesting starting TE battle.

Gates will be the only one available, but he's so injury prone....you can't count on him after 15 years of playing time too.

Just go with the youngsters. Training camp and pre-season will provide ample opportunity to show if they need to add a veteran. Until then I'd pass on adding any 30+ year old. Gates is on his last legs. Julius Thomas needs Peyton Manning to be effective and teams know this, which is why he is available after being with 3 teams in his career.

IMo everything is on the table.TE,LB ,1T and safety could all be upgraded in FA or by cuts from other teams. the pressing need is at 1T and safety.
