The Vikings 'divided locker room' is the same bunch of BS that Mr. Blue Suit pulled with Owens being jealous of Romo and Witten's relationship.
But I believe what has happened with Favre and the Vikings is the media, particularly BSPN and Peter King (who are two huge parts of the NFL media), are angered by Favre because he's been a source of theirs for years and with him lying about his retirement, he's made them look bad.
So they take it out on the Vikings because as Peter King put it, they've been 'enablers' to allowing Favre to comeback to the league.
You would think that their boss would see some possible conflict of interest and would make sure that if they are reporting this garbage that they would be very detailed, thorough and diligent so they don't look like they have an axe to grind. Instead, being accurate and factual takes a backseat to their vendetta. (At least --- to my knowledge --- King hasn't reported BS stories like BSPN and has just criticized the Vikes for taking Favre).
Owens is a ratings grab who behaved and showed up Mr. Blue Suit by refusing to answer any of his questions for weeks. Favre is a ratings grab who was a big time source for the media who made them look bad when he 'un-retired.' The big difference here will be the local media. Dallas' local media would just add fuel to the fire. Minnesota's local media will undoubtedly support Favre, unless he stinks up the joint with his play.
