Do we bring in another cornerback?

With Mo most likely out for the season, do we bring in another corner once we IR him? I know that Patmon would be asked to play more, but only keeping 4 corners is risky. I doubt we'll sign a big name older free agent like Champ Bailey or Asante Samuel or Marcus Trufant, but here are some available veteran free agents I wouldn't mind taking a look at.

Jabari Greer
Drayton Florence
Terrell Thomas
Michael Coe (was with us for a few games in 2012)
Curtis Brown
Dunta Robinson

But more likely if we pick up another corner, I expect it to be an unknown that the scouting department has had its eye on, most likely from someone else's practice squad.

Yes, I think we almost have to. You need to have 5 CB on your 53 man now adays, because you need 4 active CB that know your system on game day. And 4 is about the minimum active CBs you need.

Man I remember a time when I would have killed for Dunta Robinson. Now? Not so much.

Tyler Patmon is next man up. Still got Jamea Thomas and Micah Pellerin on the PS. I think if (when) Mo goes on IR, you might bring in a veteran CB, but I think you give Patmon a shot.

OF that list, i think Greer is the only one to consider

Depends on how they feel about the PC guys. Not sure I'd call any of the names in the OP. Might be a next guy up situation.

Get me a player that can compete for the 3rd and 4th corner spot and has played for either Marinelli or Lovie Smith in this scheme and I think we have to look at him.

Need one that's for sure, is there one that might be available for say a 2nd round pick that is still reasonably young? Most picks next yr will be on defense anyway... and at least that way u know what u r getting. With the team actually playing well, I wouldn't want to bring in a bum.

Terrell Thomas was a pretty good big, physical corner who got cut in August by the Seahawks. If he's recovered from his ACL injury, I'd bring him in along with Florence, Greer and anyone else for a tryout, then decide if they're better than anyone you could poach off a practice squad.

I would stay with what we have. Like another poster said you still have the opportunity to bring Pellerin up if need be.. Haven't had more than 4 active on gameday yet anyway.. Also important to remember the Cowboys see Hamilton as a guy who can cover so I think this is an obvious roster move.. Claiborne to IR and Hamilton to the 53

Thomas may be done, but I think he is definitely worth a tryout to kick the tires

When is Hamilton reinstated again. Is it this week?

I would not trade a 2nd rounder for a corner at this moment. Just bring Patmon in from the practice squad. So long he can tackle and play the ball while in the air I think he'll be fine.

Patmon is on the 53 not the practice squad.

Pellerin will probably get called up if Mo goes on IR.

I don't think so. I think Tyler Patmon gets the call at the 4CB spot and Micah Pellerin comes in as well.

Off of that list, though, I would like Jabari Greer, Drayton Florence, Terrell Thomas, or Dunta Robinson if we feel compelled to add one.

I also think Morris has seen his last game in a Cowboys uniform. Not because the team might not think he can still contribute, but I think at this point they'd probably just allow him to find work elsewhere and give him the opportunity to try again with a change of scenery.

I think we'll definitely be calling a bunch of FA corners.

However, I think the next corner is on our PS/other teams PS

no way we spend a second round pick for a 4th cb. if we have another injury to a cb that might be an option but with scan, carr, and moore we are fine with the first 3 so we need a 4th and it's like to be a ps guy
