Do We Make Trades?

I would think that we will be making some deals and shopping some players (Crayton, M. Barber, Bennett, etc.). Who thinks we do a lot of wheeling and dealing for some more picks? I think we move a player or two. There is a lot of talent in this draft. What are your thoughts? Anyone heard anything?

I dont believe we are trading Bennett, Jerry talked about how great it was to have excellet depth at TE during the post draft presser last night.

I would think Crayton or Spears, nobody else has any significant value.

So far, the trades have all been draft picks....and no players. We'll see.

I would hope that we can move one of our players for a pick, but who knows how realistic that is. Could be that we can make a deal where we do a player/player swap like Spears for the Dolphins Guard Justin Smiley.

Spears, Bennett and Crayton should be on high alert.

These are all guys who Dallas could easily get away with trading.

I think I would lean more towards combining a future pick with maybe a lower Dallas pick in this draft to secure an additional pick in the second round....and maybe even moving down a little to secure a third as well.

They already did. 2nd and 2 4th rounders now.

Hey, Jerry pushed the idea that he didn't want any player to be complacent. He wanted some real concern...and that would do it allright.

I believe strongly we will not be sitting still for the next 6 rounds and yes I think someone on the current roster will be dealt.

Seeing all the talent in this year's second round makes one salivate....and there appears to be somewhat of a line following the third round.

Even though Baltimore is furious with us, I believe we will offer them our 4th round pick + Crayton/Bennett either or for Gaither. I know he is not a popular figure, but they need to move him and need a WR and Crayton is more polished than anything they can draft right now.

If we could move one of those players for a 3rd round pick that would be great. That's the nice thing about this new draft format. With time on their hands between the 1st round and the 2 -3 rounds, I think there is going to be a lot of talking & negotiating going on.

Weren't there some rumors that J Smiley was in the outs in Miami? I think they are looking to move him due to performance due to injury issues? I'm not 100% sure on this. Thought I may have read it a couple days ago.

I hear 'ya 'basstapp'.....I do man, but somehow I DON'T think Ozzie Newsome will want to hear from the Cowboys and JJ any time soon! Just sayin'.......

Not really - Miami got a player in their trade. But there could be more to come.

Chargers receive:
» First-round pick (No. 12):
Ryan Mathews
» Fourth-round pick (No. 110)
» Sixth-round pick (No. 173)

Dolphins receive:
» Linebacker Tim Dobbins
» First-round pick (No. 28):
Jared Odrick
» Second-round pick (No. 40)
» Fourth-round pick (No. 126)

Yeah, they told him not to report to offseason workouts because he was on the trading block. He has had some injury issues the last few seasons, but is a good player if he is healthy again.

Hey, I would settle for Gaither as the backup tackle.

Ahhh, I missed that! So maybe players will show up in trades. It certainly has not been dull so far.
