I feel that we don't need a #1, but guys that can get open and be available to Dak. We saw the fallout with having Cooper here who everyone said was his number 1. They made it seem that Dak doesn't need a #1 because all it does is forces him to get the ball to a certain player.

I think Dak is more comfortable finding the open guy, instead of being obligated to throw to your expensive #1 option. We feel that we need a #1 because we have to have a go to guy, to make big plays for us.

I'm curious to see what happens in the future. Please give me your thoughts

You don't need a #1 WR, you need a #1 QB. The league has always shown that. That #1 QB can make any WR look like a Pro Bowler if the ball is where it's supposed to be.

Either Dak is that guy or he isn't and that's a separate debate for a separate topic.

Then why not focus on the subject instead of adding another topic to this!!!

I'm not pissing on Dak - the answer to the question is you don't need a #1 receiver, you need a QB who can make his guys look like #1's.

Look at a guy like Brady - outside of Moss, he had castoffs and no-names but they got rings. Mahomes has a collection of guys at the WR spot.

And Dallas clearly values Lamb as the #1 - they drafted him high, he wears #88, etc. We don't need another high-priced acquisition, we just need to execute with the playcalling and playmakers that we have.

Dak has always been best when he spreads the ball around. When he sees the field and finds the open receiver and let's it go the Cowboys offense is unstoppable. The Cowboys need depth at WR not necessarily a #1.

I’ll bet most posters will take those 37 TD’s he threw for last season right about now. The best way to play complimentary football is to get a lead and let the other team pass on us. That feeds right into the strength of this D.

A #1 WR seems to be more of a luxury than a need. We have three really solid receivers that all come up short of being that true #1, but are excellent as #2 or 3 types. Combine that with the idea that we seem to be 3 deep at TE (when healthy), and have a run first offense I would focus on putting resources towards other areas than WR, unless a legitimate top tier guy comes available. A marginal or debatable upgrade just seems like a waste.

Lets see what happens, but I see this offense being focused around 2TE sets moving forward, which I really like. Teams are focused on building their defenses to run out of Dime/Nickle packages, lets go back to some old school football and see how these teams do out of their base sets more often.

I feel like the offense needs a burner at WR that can stretch a defense to really open things up.

Also, TE production in the passing game is lacking right now.

Hey we can always want more.

Let's have the best of everything, then maybe we can win.

I think so, but I would like to see more from the group with QB1 out there.

I think so far, every gamble the FO has made this past offseason has worked to a large degree except WR. Gallup jogging on some of his routes (including the first INT) really bothered me Sunday night.

Any QB needs a #1 and we have a great one in Lamb. End of story. Dont miss Cooper and didnt need a veteran FA to be signed.

No, we’ve got one in Lamb.

We need our WR to be fully healthy, our starting QB back and Mellen to do a better job scheming these dudes open.

Right now Lamb is #15 in the NFL in WR yardage. And that is with the horrid Rush throwing the ball. Heck there was a 60 yard easy TD bomb where Lamb was wide open Sunday night that Rush underthrew for a pick.

Those are already #1 numbers. When Dak gets back he should move into the top 10 on WR stats. Right where he should be.

Ceedee has too many mental lapses to be counted on.
