You don't need a #1 WR, you need a #1 QB. The league has always shown that. That #1 QB can make any WR look like a Pro Bowler if the ball is where it's supposed to be.

Either Dak is that guy or he isn't and that's a separate debate for a separate topic.

Ya Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson are just lighting it up with their WRs.

No Coog. Dak had 2 (Dez/Amari) #1 WRs and for some reason couldn't get them the ball. Why bring in another guy to go thru the same thing?

Run the ball well and use PA off that to open up bigger windows for Dak to throw to..that has always been the best way for him, imho.

Lastly, Dak's #1 is Dalton Shultz. Maybe we can see Fergnshot have a breakout game.

Nah, thats just what Cooper cry babies say. Lamb had the one bad drop that actually meant something and he made up for it with the 1 handed game winning TD later in the game.
Its not based off one game its based on what hes done in his nfl career. Hes near the top in drops since hes been in the league

Dak couldnt get them the ball? LOL

Is that why we lead the NFL in yards and points? Another troll myth debunked.

I'm not pissing on Dak - the answer to the question is you don't need a #1 receiver, you need a QB who can make his guys look like #1's.

Look at a guy like Brady - outside of Moss, he had castoffs and no-names but they got rings. Mahomes has a collection of guys at the WR spot.

And Dallas clearly values Lamb as the #1 - they drafted him high, he wears #88, etc. We don't need another high-priced acquisition, we just need to execute with the playcalling and playmakers that we have.

Brady also had a generational tight end and the best coach/cheat of his era.

The jury is still out on Mahomes without Tyreek Hill. But they used a 2nd rounder on a WR and I would bet you they will use a higher pick on one next year if Skyy Moore doesn't pan out.

Go ahead and look at the yearly drop list. They are always the top guys as they get the most targets.

Cooper was famous for drops his first 4 years in the NFL.

So what if Brady did?

Mahomes is tearing up the NFL without Hill. Its incredible actually.

Agreed but coop opened up everything for all the other pass catchers. I dont think ceedee requires the same attention

Most if not all the great teams in NFL history had a great number one receiver. Every great Cowboys team had one from Bob Hayes to Drew Pearson to Michael Irvin. The great Steelers teams of the 70s had two receivers that were equivalent to number one receivers Swann and Stallworth. The great 49ers teams had Jerry Rice. Great QBs can turn average receivers into real good receivers like Dan Marino did the Marks brothers but they’re not going to turn them into Hall of Fame receivers. Tua is starting to develop into a viable QB in the NFL because Miami added a legit number one receiver in Tyreek Hill. Dak became a better QB when we added Amari Cooper.

Deebo Samuel has made San Francisco a much better team and Jimmy G a viable QB. AJ Brown is helping to develop Jalen Hurts into a much better QB. The Cowboys need a number one WR that has to be accounted for. When they were winning championships they had that WR. CeeDee he’s a good receiver but he’s not a number one. A big reason our passing game is struggling is because of our receivers. There’s a reason WR money is skyrocketing. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers have been struggling without Davante Adams. Despite Patrick Mahomes the Chiefs aren’t as good without Tyreek Hill.

It's a good question.

It's similar to asking if Zeke should receive the Lions share of carries or could the run game be just as effective or even better by equally dividing the run carries.

My perception of the #1 WR had always been that his presence normally made the #2 and 3 WR better by opponents dedicating more d backs his way so as to allow the other guys better opportunities.

I don't really see this playing out so much on a consistent basis when watching Lamb play from game to game.

So I guess my answer would be that I would like to see a larger separation in performance from WR1 to WR2 and the results that I described above.

All this comparison performance talk of 1s and 2s seems to happen at several positions on this team, lol.

Yes. They need one of that, too.
