Do we OWN Bill for another year?

If Bill retires and then decides to coach somewhere else, do we get compensation?
 
only if jerry jones (as i understand it, if jerry jones pays him for 2207 this year); if he goes to any team as a coach or general manager, then yes, we would get compensation.

i dont think that will happen though, i do think parcells will wait until next year, and jioin someone like the jets or giants so he can be close home to his house and the race track, as a general manager, or assist in drafting or scout other pro teams, give his advice towards the draft, etc.
 
I don't think he has to pay him for 2007. Parcells is under contract for one more year. He cannot join another team while still under contract as a head coach without compensating the Cowboys. Well, that is unless Jerry releases him of his obligation. I do believe he can leave for another job if it's a better position. GM would be considered a better position. Would there be compensating if he took a GM position. I'm not really sure.

Correct, Jones is not going to pay him the remainder of the contract which was reported on this morning.
