Do we really have no number one receiver?

I certainly agree that we don’t have a true number one WR, just a gaggle of 2’s and 3’s. But should we be TOTALLY without hope? Are we doomed, are we truly the worst, is there nothing we can do? The way Chris Carter and most other guys talk, we don’t have any WRs at all. If that’s the case, then the league should allow us to add six more players! We don’t have 53, we have 47!

If I was a WR for the Cowboys, I would be so offended, so motivated, that I would be putting in MEGA OVERTIME watching film, meeting with coaches, working on chemistry with my QB, doing whatever I could to make the pundits look stupid!

Anyone else feel that way? Is it possible?

the WRs for the Cowboys should already being putting in the time to get better and make a difference - none of them are pro-bowlers, so their jobs should be suspect to them at best...

....yes, I would be offended if I were a WR for Dallas, but my frustration would be with the SERIOUS lack of play-calling to get me the ball

I recall when everyone laughed at our DL. And it was pretty bad. Same for our secondary, etc. I think its entirely possible we are in a similar situation with our receiving corp by committee.

I think its also likely that having a more recognized #1 receiver with Dez and even Witten it allowed some of these Jags to get single coverage which provided for them more opportunity.

Many critics anticipated and suspected the issues we could have this year with our receiving roster. Id say so far they probably were closer to right than those who thought we'd be fine.

Good news is we will address it next year probably early in the draft and or FA if it continues to be near the bottom tier in the league.

We all know Cole Beasely is open all day long. Plus, all the other guys are vets besides Gallup.

The structure of the pass game is trash, then there's Dak's inconsistency, etc... so hard to get on the WRs IMO.

We have a very poor collection of receivers. All the motivation and hard work (which they already have and do) isn't going to change that.

We have the 25th ranked QB and 27th ranked offense(31st ranked passing offense) which is a combination of both.

Id argue a greater QB could probably elevate our receiving corps more than great receivers could elevate this QB.

I agree

I'd take Irvin's advice -- I wouldn't put head to pillow, or toothbrush to tooth, until I got it right.

I'd be one sleep-deprived, mediocre player with bad breath and cavities, but no one could criticize my work ethic.

Welp, you've gone and done it now. You're gonna get accused of all kinds of stuff by the Dakaholics.

I’m looking forward to three years from now when JJ and JG finally address the WR position, but then our defensive line and defensive backs will be awful again.

I think we have adequate receivers. I wouldn't call them great. But so wouldn't call them trash either.

Beasley is above average. Tavon Austin is elite if you can get the ball in his hands. Gallup is fine, he's just a rookie.

Thompson and Hurns have rkaivly caught the ball when it has been thrown to them. They are adequately getting open.

I have little doubt that the scheme isn't helping Dak or the receiving corps. But it is working well enough. I think the OL just has to consistently give Dak a reasonable time to do something with the ball (better against Detroit) and for Dak to settle down a little. Dak has it in him.

What makes you think this? Our FO will more likely neglect the WR position again just to try to make the point that they are smarter than everyone else

Because it’s already being discussed all over local media .

2s and 3s? Try 3s and 4s. And most of them are 4s at best.

This is a garbage group of wide receivers with an embarrassingly pathetic set of tight ends and a trash quarterback.

But Zeke is a sexy thang.

That's your realty on the state of the skill positions in Dallas.
