Do we really judge off week 1?

My one post disappeared, but some interesting late games too.

Who were the teams predicted for playoff runs? Carolina, Seattle, Denver, New England, Tampa Bay, Dallas

Well, let's look at today's results:
Tampa Bay shut out by Ravens
Carolina looked bad against Atlanta
Denver loses to St. Louis
Dallas...well, we all know
New England barely gets by Buffalo
Seattle barely gets by Detroit

Arizona, Jets, & Saints all look like Super Bowl contenders. Even Houston looked good for a while.

So, I'm not quite ready to throw the towel in on the season yet. The team does need to work hard this week, tho.

No, but you can judge from last year, and this team still has many of the same flaws...weak O-Line, Poor Kicker, too many stupid penalties, no turnovers when needed, very little pressure when not blitzing, no heart at all..the list goes on, and on...same team that lost to the Rams last year.

... the season is far from over, but there needs to be some accountability for performances. Cowboy fandom such as this forum doesn't need to accept poor performances.

What made this loss difficult is the unanswered points before our end of the game flurry. Then the last series led by Bledsoe. It makes you wonder about things like have we properly prepared the team for these games?

Why couldn't the coaches account for what we saw on the field? I guess there's alot of questions and very few answers going around.

wins and losses alone mean zilch except in context of maybe "didn't win enough to win a superbowl".

noone is throwing in the towel, but today we threw away a game that we should have been winning 17-0 before half. it was UGLY. lots of reason for concern.... notably on D against a very marginal offensive team.

yup, clunkers happen but this was just too soon for fans liking.

Didn't you know it's gonna be the Jets and Saints in the super bowl?

Seriously, we lost and that sucks royally.

But do you know what 2005 playoff teams Carolina, Denver, Seattle, Chicago all have in common?

They all lost their first games last year.

What if you guys won this first game, but then go on to lose many more after, would you guys want that instead? I doubt it, I mean you guys did not do that bad, agaisnt a decent Jags team. Take it easy, yeah there were definately some bad mistakes, but its week one. Sure concern about Bledsoe, but bench him after one game? That is a bit crazy.

We don't judge off this one week.

But it should be disheartening and a bit concerning to anyone who has watched Drew Bledsoe over the years.

He is the same quarterback he was in New England as he was in Buffalo.

Amazing in one game, mindboggling inefficient and inept in another.

For a team hoping to enter the playoffs and be considered among the elite teams, this is not good and trying to minimize his play - when we've seen it over and over again - while hoping he will "correct" himself is the definition of insanity (doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result).

Spoken like a man chomping the bit to see his team pummel an immobile quarterback.

You guys are talking about disappoint? Hah.....let's just say I feel your pain. But the point is we really can't say much until we are in the thick of things. Teams make runs, they change, winning teams start losing, and vice versa. I am sure the Dallas coaching staff knows the problems, and I still think Bledsoe will get one more chance, atleast.

Haha, actually I would rather like to see Romo in agaisnt us. Yeah we have Bledsoe figured out, but I do not want a vet in as QB on a close game.

Finally, a voice of reason. There are intelligent Commander fans out there.

No, believing that Bledsoe is somehow going to change into Tom Brady or Peyton Manning after 14 years is being realistic.

Try to keep up. ;)
