Do we shy away from rival's players?

Seems like it.

Plenty of players bounce around within the division. Lately the only one we signed I can think of that matters is T.O.

I like it though. Its kind of dumb to hate Chris Canty all of the sudden.

Don't think anyone hates Canty people do hate the ridiculous Canty hype though. We've watched the guy for 4 years and he was never more then above average, but now when he's a Giant his name gets thrown around like he's Ware or something

Agreed, don't mind Canty one bit but the hype NY and their fans are giving him is as if he's going to be their Lawrence Taylor of DE's. I'm actually going to feel bad for Canty once the season rolls along and their media starts feeding on him like there's no tomorrow.

They're expecting that Osi is the end of all Left Tackles this season, but are forgetting that Winston Justice doesn't start at left tackle for every one of their opponents in 2009. This season is going to be a major let down for the fans of New Jersey. Their offense is going to sputter along, no telling how their defense will play with Spags gone, and they all think Eli is going to take them to the promised land again.

We discard, they pick up. If they want to recycle while we get the new and better players, by all means, let them.

What hype?

I don't hate Canty, I just don't like him as much as I did before. LOL

It is business I'm not going to say I'll be pulling for him and the Giants. It is what it is.

I know I generally don't want in division players. I really think ex-DC players/coaches are the worst, I know they sabotage my Skins every chance they get -alvin harper, norv turner, deion.... geez NEVER again - I hope.

As for Chris Canty, I think it is more sickening how the media fawns over whatever NY and Philly's Front Offices do. Canty was a decent player, but come on...

Some people take it personal when one of "ours" signs with a rival. Thing is, these players don't have the same sense of loyalty that they had in the past and certainly don't have allegiances that stretch beyond a paycheck. The game has really changed and rivalries don't mean nearly as much as we think they should. Most of these players are treating it like a business and rightfully so.

I really can't hold it against the players, they have their own legitimate financial reasons for the things they do. Sure, I'd hope that our players literally hated our rival organizations enough to stay away, but that's not realistic.

And yes, the continual dogging of Canty by our fanbase is silly. Get over it, he made the decision that was best for him. I know the tongue-bathing he's getting now he is a Giant is overwhelming, but so what. It doesn't make him nearly the scrub that I keep seeing people scoff at. He's decent. No better or worse now he's in New York.

Well if you guys signed Harper then...well...it's your fault. You had to have signed him AFTER he went to Tampa Bay and showed that he sucked. So the Skins fans can blame that one squarely on management being to stupid to do their homework.

Deion...well what did you expect? The dude was old. Again piss poor management. Signed a guy for name value, only, and ignored the fact that he was older and coming off various injuries for a couple years in a row.

The Norv Turner one though, I'll take that one. It was clearly a well thought out, and executed, plan by Jerry Jones to sabatoge you guys for a few years. :p

As for Canty I don't hate him. I think he's a bit too highly regarded at this point but then again he's going to New York. He's going to have Osi and Tuck taking up the majority of the attention for him so he should get a lot more one on one chances where he's actually being asked to rush the passer. The guy might wind up having a great year for that fact alone.

3-4 defensive end (or NT too, for that matter as well) is not an impact position. It's a blue collar job that, if done properly, gets the player little recognition but allows the linebackers to shine.

With that said, I think Canty will more of an opportunity to make plays and get stats in New Yorks 4-3 than he did in our defense. Will he do it? I don't know, but don't judge his ipside in the 4-3 by what he did in Dallas.

agreed.....i get sick of hearing how great the Philly staff is.....if they are so great how come they cant get over the hump? when a team goes to a NFC championship its great if a team does it multiple times and loses its total failure.....it astonishes me watching them have Mcnabb play at the level he has for so long and they wont give him the weapons he needs to be successful .....when he had a top flight WR they were a force ....well for 1 year anyway.....they have waisted a franchise QB if you ask me.....

If he's good enough to get them to the NFCC five times (I think, there have been so many losses I lost count), why would they need to break the bank and think that? You would think that eventually he would not choke on a bone at a critical juncture. Besides, the Eagles are cheap. I don't believe they are ignorant. Just stubborn and they believe in their systems, both offensively and defensively. And if it weren't for a particular choking QB, they would have a trophy in their case by now.

Canty got to play 4-3 DT in nickel situations with Ware, Ratliff, and Ellis. If he couldn't generate pressure and sacks in that situation then I don't see how it all of a sudden gets easy with the Giants.

i dislike canty, reason being is i read an article on here actually that supposedly had said that he was " now on the better end of the rivarly" and " he knew that giants were his calling" and he took a very tiny blow at the organization and how its ran I believe

Thats the thing. Seems like just yesterday he was our guy. This lumbering steal w/ a busted eye. Now hes a bad guy all of the sudden. I dont mean bad for taking the money, hed be an idiot not to.

Like could you imagine one day having Brandon Jacobs or Pierce? These guys are turds, I couldnt flip a switch like that. So Im glad we stay away from NFCE players for the most part.

That doesnt mean I wouldnt want a Kenny Phillips or Laron Landry mind you
